Hi there, first post of my own I see...

Anyways I'm having an extremely difficult time astral projecting nowadays, even though I used to be able to do it moderately well (this was about 8 months ago when I last projected successfully, and even then it was quite difficult, but at least it was possible.) I know how to do it, and I follow a method called the "general transfer of consciousness" method, which is described in an astral projecting book I have. But when I try to do it now, I end up becoming so drowsy that I just end up napping instead (I say napping because, from my experience, it is exceedingly hard for me to project at night.)

This is a serious issue, especially since it is my goal to be able to astral project at-will on a regular basis. The reason for this is because I want to hold council with the gods regarding the whole 2012 issue, resolving any fears I may have about the upcoming date...believe me, all this 2012 hype scares the crap outta me.

Finally, I will say my lifestyle is very difficult and busy...I am taking two college classes at once and I'm still new to college. That combined with the fact that my boarding school makes you go to their own classes at least 3 times a day. I have autism and I get overloaded very easily, and usually my break time does not exceed two hours between appointments. And when you don't attend one, they get maaaad.

I'm thinking all this pressure, combined with sleepless nights and such is making me too stressed and drowsy at the same time that it's way too hard to astral project. Which sucks because I NEED to be able to project like I used to.

The more you pressure yourself the less you'll be able to do it.  Distractions can be bad and good at the same time- sometimes it's better to continue to practice without  the expectation of projection, and 'recharge your batteries'.
But sometimes the feeling that you need to do it for a reason will be what gets in the way of projection.  I know I never had trouble projecting until I decided I wanted to do something in particular- for the time it was a 'mission' I just couldn't do it.  The minute I decided to forget that, I projected again.

I kind of agree, I can be VERY hard on myself

Elaborate if you can?

Lame! But I see what you mean. But yeah...even meditation is hard for me nowadays, probably because I want to be able to do it perfectly, and go through my ideal meditation routine every time, which would take at least 45 minutes, an impossible feat unless I get up at 4:30 AM!

So anyways, how do YOU project? What are some steps, if you don't mind me asking? I'm always open to try newer, possibly better-suited methods.

My technique is in the techs section here, but elaborating on what I said, when things get tough, follow a practice (whatever you do) and get yourself to the part where you are in trance, and just observe, don't try to get out.  Just see/hear what happens around you, and if you feel you'll fall asleep, wake yourself up, and do this a few times.
If you do energy work continue, especially energy raising, and get a good night sleep.  Don't do projection practice before going to sleep, and consider the next few weeks 'recharging time'- sleep well, do your practice, but just don't attempt any exits.

One day you'll feel so *on fire* that you won't be able to stop yourself from projecting.

I have this problem too. I havn't had a successful projection in a long time now. I miss the old times of being able to get out at least 1 or twice a month.

I'm just waitin for it to happen

I used to project very often, when I started to work, smoking, sleepless, etc. the same happened to me, this system is made to squeeze you, so the more we grow up and need to face the system, is dificult to get equilibrium, so I think we need to learn how to relax and organize our time :S
The more you know, you'll know more about you know nothing.

The conscious and unconscious will and intention to go out of body is as important as any consciously applied method of inducing an OBE. The point being that it is Very important to stress your desire to have an OBE. That should eventually result in a spontaneous OBE, even when you least expect it.
