I agree that the build-up techniques are just as important as the separation techniques. In the past I have used a similar technique for astral  body separation.I imajined and FELT that I was the weight on the end of a pendulum.I started to swing the pendulum, gradually increasing the range of the swing. If you are deeply relaxed enough,it acts as a separation reflex trigger.Unfortunately,it can be very disconcerting when you separate, due to the speed and range of the swing, but it does work.Once I ended up staring at the ceiling in the hall after separating using this technique. In order to trigger the separation reflex, the speed of the swing has to be very fast, and the feeling of the action has to be very vivid.I just thought of another variation-how about remembering the feeling you used to get as a kid spinning around on those  things in the park-I forget what they are called-they spin very fast and make you feel sick, like those things that astronauts use to train in  to get used to the g-forces...

The musical conciousness is mind beneath the sun.

I heard of a technique. First you visualize an object and slowly move it to the left and right. Then set up a counter-motion, of your own awareness. Go left and go right, opposite to its motion. Then, when your motion is synchronized to its, then you can grab on and be pulled out of body. That is the technique, anyway. It sounds like the one in this thread.

SPASTRAL

Hi All,

I have been working on Bob petersons swaying method recently.

This involves a series of excersised to get you relaxed, then working on focus and calming the mind.  The next step is to imagine an object floating above you (I use a sphere) first start visualise it moving slightly towards you, then away, build this up until the object is constantly moving and getting closer all the time.

As it gets closer, imagine that the object has a gravity of its own, so as it gets closer, you feel it pulling you towards it, so much so that you visualise your astral body briefly separate and move towards the object as it gets closer to you then sway back into your body as it moves away.  According to Bob peterson, this should be enough to gradually losen and separate the astral from the physical.

For me, I get to this point and for the 1st time, I'm feeling some pretty serious vibrations, I was unable to finish the job off, but I was very close.

I would say this is a worthwhile technique and has given me fresh motivation.

On his website, he says that working on the build up excersises and putting more emphasis on the build up excersises (Focusing and quieting the mind, being passive and 100%relaxation) even during the projection technique, you should keep these things in the forfront of your mind.

Anyway, hope this helps.  If anyone has any variances of this technique, please let me know as I have at last found something that suits me and will lead me to success soon.

One final thing to mention is that after doing this for 30-40 mins, I got up to go shopping and felt as if I was dragging my astral body 8 inches behind my physical.  I know I wasn't but it made everything feel very surreal.  Not the best way to be when you have to drive!!!
