Haha, I was wondering if anyone else experienced this too. Mine happened only once to my recollection, and was after a nap. I fell asleep before my friends came over, and I was woken up when they walked in my door. At this point the incredible confusion hit me. My first thought was "what the f*ck?" and it only got worse. I asked them what the hell they were doin here (I knew who they were, and who I was, but I was just confused). It lasted like 15minutes (not just 10-15 seconds). I would get to a point where I would say "ohh ok, they just came over to hang out," and then I'd think "wait, huh?? what's going on??"

So for me, it's extremely funny in hindsight. While it was happening, I wasn't really scared at all, just terribly confused. I knew the where, who, why, and how, but the what eluded me (I just could not understand what was happening).

I'm curious to hear from others, and a bit more about your own experiences, Vvid1012.

ha, finally somebody!!  yeah thats a good way to describe the experience...complete confusion.  I don't remember the first time that happened, I just remember how it felt.  I think it was because I just snapped awake(possibly awakened by my TV) at some critical part of sleep that caused everything to seem false.  But damn, 15 mins? I guess it seemed scary because I'm usually aware of whats going on, ya know? but awesome that someone else has this crap.

lol i know what your talking about lol. it rarely happens too me but once a long time ago i told my sister not to wake me up until my mom was home (i was young, i think around 8 or 9) and then i fell asleep on the couch. about an hour later my mom woke me up and i was so confused i had no idea what was going on. i thought my sister woke me up and i was furios at her, the strange thing was my "sister" was really my mom. i was too disorientated to realize i was yelling at my mom. that was wierd. it lasted about 3 minutes but it felt really distorted.

This happened to my brother one time I remember...he woke up in the middle of the night to ask my parents where "the puzzle piece was"...I also remember another time when he woke up in the middle of the night screaming...he was dreaming about stripes...(This happened when we were kids...we used to both "camp out" in the living room when there was no school...)...

I had also really bad "anxiety dreams" as I was told these were called...about something really plain like stripes or patterns...I remember one about seeing these people on different "levels"...kind of like looking at an early video game board like Donkey Kong...in retrospect they always seemed like the most harmless things, but these dreams scared the bejeezus out of me!!!!!

I also remember a time when I was 8...I had a recurring one where I was in this gigantic gym running...I was so nervous it was like I was running for my life...if I didn't win I would die...or something like that...I remember slipping in and out of sleep...I was in the living room for some reason and my dad was out there...I remember sleepwalking over to the living room chair...I kept saying something about "swimming", when I was dreaming about running...I was completely disoriented...

I think I had a really bad fever when that happened...

this usually happens if you are deep in astral travel and something in reality wakes you up, its such a shock to the system to be jerked so quickly back into the physical body without consciously wanting to return that it can take a long time to gather yourself and fit your mind properly back into your head. i used to get it like 5 times a night, i'd wake up so quick and shoot upright like whaaaaaaaaaa

this has happened a couple times to me..it may not be obe related but..  during the middle of the night I would randomly jerk and awake while feeling extreme tired/groggy and spend at least 10-15 seconds figuring out where the hell I am, who I am and what the hell is going on.  I'v asked a few of my friends if they'd experienced this yet look at me like I'm nuts.. ha possible, anyways... anyone have this happen... its scary as hell.
