Title: Having hit a wall, next logical step is not to bang my head against it!
Post by: Alex-Anderson on October 26, 2010, 09:09:52
Last night I had another OBE, and during this OBE I was once more trying to understand my perception of solid objects such as the ability to float through walls/doors windows etc. However prior to eventually making it outside of my house my OBE started off where I initially found myself standing in my room facing the bedroom wall adjacent to my bed?

As with all my OBE's I initially spend a few minutes first aligning my awareness to where I was. On this occasion I first stood paused and somewhat puzzled in front of my bedroom wall, and I guess like a carrot dangling in front of a donkey I said to myself hey let's see if you can walk through this wall, after all you are having an OBE?

I subsequently stepped forward with the intention of walking through the wall like a hot knife sliding through butter, but to my surprise I instead hit the wall with a solid thump! I thought fair enough, let's try this again and I attempted once more but this time with a greater force. I positioned myself with my right shoulder aimed towards the wall in somewhat a defensive tackling stance, and I was on the assumption that I would just run up to the wall and roll through onto the floor of the bedroom next store. So I positioned myself and then ran towards the wall with my body and shoulder leaning forward as if I was trying to knock the whole wall down. However as my body pressed up against it, low and behold, I just bounced off it again with a solid thump.

Now after several attempts I was beginning to get frustrated, so I looked across over to the bedroom door as my next exit, yet the door was shut (when I woke up the door was actually open but annoyingly it was closed in my OBE). Like my efforts with the wall, I ran towards the door with a great force but this time making a tremendous noise as my body was slamming against it and like a Tom and Jerry cartoon I hit the door frame with a tremendous smack and fell to the floor.

I was becoming aware that for some reason I was adopting this unusual child like hyperactive aggressive approach to my actions. I laughed thinking maybe I should be a bit calmer, and oddly I noticed when I was hitting the door or the wall I was making a groaning noise from the bed where my body was fast asleep - I didn't want this to wake my wife up so I had try something different. So I gave up with the door and decided to head over to see if could get out through the bay window of our bedroom, but like the door and the wall I too just hit this with a solid smack.

I was now standing there with my hands pressed up against the window glass panes, slightly annoyed thinking come on Alex just slide through it, or if not then how the hell will I get outside of my house?? Well oddly what happened next was either a gap in my memory or my OBE physical time line and I was suddenly outside standing in front of my house looking back up at that window that I was trying to get out, but I don't remember sliding though the window or travelling to the where I was standing.

Perhaps I'm being to objective on how I perceive the environment during my OBE's. But even so I still have not managed to travel out of my house in real time through a wall, door, ceiling or let alone a window. I also have no idea why I do not have the common sense during my OBE's to just try using the door handle when trying to go through a shut door but I guess this partially driven by the fascination to pass through an object.

Just to finish I do always manage to make it just outside of my house but it's always by thought and never by foot.

You know that you can pass through walls but that doesn't mean you believe you can.

I had this problem a lot.  I once tried to jump into a mirror.  I got a running start, jumped and SMACK!  I hit the mirror and bounced off.  On another occasion I was in an odd house that didn't look like my parents' house but I felt that it was.  I kept trying to jump through the front door but I kept bouncing off.  Just when I started getting frustrated I heard a disembodied voice say, "do you really believe you can pass through solid objects?  I don't think you do.  Try closing your eyes, then you'll never see it coming."  So, I tried again, this time closing my eyes, and before I knew it I was outside.  Give that a try, close your eyes, forget about the solidity of the object and jump.  After you do it enough, after you've convinced yourself completely, then you shouldn't have any trouble passing through objects at your leisure.

Well, I know why you can't "walk through walls".

You said it yourself actually.
You "THINK" you should be able to do it.

Just DO IT.  Don't think about it... just DO IT.
Don't think you can... KNOW you can, without having to think about it.
That's the power of the subconscious.  :)

lol your account made me laugh. I had an image of your wife watching you sleepwalking, repeatedly trying to run through the wall.

Sometimes I can go through walls sometimes I cant. I try to remember not to go out windows just incase I'm sleep walking or something. If going through the wall doesnt work its out the door and down the stairs.

LOL, I suppose your right! The idea that I could be sleepwalking always runs through my mind during an OBE and safety should always be paramount.

I suppose windows should be avoided maybe I should get more in the habit of trying to first use my bedroom door, down the stairs and out the front door.

If you make a 'tssss' type noise when you try and pass through you might find it a bit easier, I do...

People like RB say that if you open a door it takes you to another place.  I have experienced this.  If I jump through a door, I wind up in a place that is similar to whats on the other side of the door.  If I open the door, I wind up in a completely different place.  Maybe not such a bad thing if you don't have a specific goal for a projection, but it lacks control and for more experienced projectors, control is "the goal".
