I have found a great new way of achievable OBE is to relax and than feel with your awareness ones heart beat and the feel of it through the entire body. Eventually you will feel the heart beat thru out the entire body which many times brings on the vibrations. This method has worked wonders for me although it can be uncomfortable in the chest but if that obstacle can be worked past than you will be on your way to a successful OBE.
Cant believe I've never meditated on my heartbeat. Sounds like such a natural thing to do now you mention it.
Will give it a go. Thanks.
Yeah that is a good idea. Seems better than meditating on the breath because I'm not sure whether I should breathe in a specific way or just relax and let my breath become shallow like in sleep. But the heartbeat can't distract you with that concern. I wonder if I can feel it well enough to hold my focus on it though. I shall try as soon as I have a little time to myself.

This is an awesome way to do it. I do something similar but a bit different. Its all about focusing on something and making the sensation grow through concentration.
I have done it like this, focusing on the heartbeat and feeling every beat pulse than echo throughout my body. Until it felt like my heart was beating in my head and then the vibration sensation comes for the exit.
Dont just narrow it down to just doing it for your heartbeat though. If thats what feels right at the time then go for it. But sometimes for example say your exhausted and all you want to do is lay down for a nap or sleep. Then lay down on your back in a comfortable position. Notice what part of your body feels extremely relaxed and focus on that. Like, say.. if the way your back feels lying on the bed feels comfortable, real comfy, then focus on that part of your body and try to make that comfortable sensation grow. Focus on the feeling more so than the body part, almost as if your making it grow. You can make that sensation takeover your whole body, which will definitely lead to the vibration taking over. If you can maintain awareness throughout than your off..
The heartbeat thing is an awesome way though. Your focusing on the relaxing feeling n sound of the beat, blocking everything else out as doing so. Just remember though, you can do this with any body part as well. Just focus on the comfortable sensations. -and let them take over.
You can find the full technique in Sylvan Muldoon's "Projection of the Astral Body"

The best way to breathe, is to do so as what comes most natural. I really dont even pay attention to the way im breathing except for when I first laydown and try to become relaxed. I will take a deep breathe in and as I let it out, I will create a sinking sensation. I will do this a few times till my body is at a dead weight feeling. Once it gets like that Im done using any muscles in my body, im done moving. Then just breathe however it comes natural.
The only other time I would focus on my breathing is when the exit vibration comes. That could get a little difficult tryn to master, trying not to breathe heavily when it comes, because of excitement/fear. But after encountering it a few times it becomes easier and will feel more natural.
yeah that makes sense, this morning i had my first obe, and it all started because i slept on my right hand and i felt a big pulse in my hand, next thing i know the next beat i felt throughout my body and the vibrations came along
I should definetely try this. I have tried concentrating on my breathing, but it makes me way too aware, I can't even go to sleep, and I also seem to control my breathing. But the heart beat technique sounds nice. Has anyone achieved OBE with this method at night, before going to sleep?
Hi,
This worked for me back in the seventies. Breathing shallow and pulse feeling in all parts of the body one at a time. I have only had vibrations three times ever. They were concentrated in the back of my head and felt like thirty hertz mains, a good flow of current too. You get visualizations and sounds and exit most times into a clearing fog typically in the RTZ. As in the said book you need to be away from your sleeping body or it may not last long. I would recommend this if other methods fail you.
Get familiar with the sounds as they sometimes distract your attention after the paralysis sets in.
Hope this is useful.
I saw Dr. Deepak Chopra describe how to do this in the Dr. Oz show.
First, he said, do alternate nostril breathing, and then once you've got it, meditate on your heartbeat. IIRC he said this synchronizes your heartbeat with your nervous system.

I don't really get vibrations usually any more. It's more like all of a sudden my whole energy body or just a part of it shakes. It's startling. It makes my breath quicken and I have to try to control it like you said. This always happens if I meditate but it's never lead to a projection. I've had several spontaneous projections but not when I try.

OMFG. I do this all the time without thinking about it. XD I have palpitations so it's pretty easy for me to focus on...
