Subliminal Tapes

I am a registered and qualified clinical hypnotherapist and psychologist, and have tried these tapes personally and with patients over many many years. My conclusion is that they work no better than placebo effect. If you want them to work they just might, but if you are uncertain, they will have no great impact.

The adverysiing makes them sounds fantastic, they really are fascinating, and appealing, to think that you can change your life with one tape, or two or three. Wouldn't that be terrific! But they are basicaly a let down. My advice is not to bother wasting your money.

If you really want to use tapes, make your own, with your own voice and background music. It is easy, cheap and can be modified as you become better at it. These ones work much better than the bought ones. try it and let me know how you go.

Thanks Astralc, I've always been a bit of a skeptic when it came to subliminal stuff.  The reason I posted this question was because my brother recently ordered a subliminal tape that was designed for triggering astral projections.  He's very much into the subliminal thing and feels he's going to get the results he's looking for.  No doubt he will, if, as you so correctly stated, he believes he will.  

I liked what you had to say about making one's OWN tapes, using one's own voice and selection of music.  I can see the logic of this and have no doubt that it probably would be more effective than mass-marketed tapes.  Oneday I'll give this a try just for fun.  Thanks again.

What kind of audio tapes/CD's are you wondering about specifically?  I know that myself and others recommend the Monroe Institute's series of audio tapes and CD's, go to the astral pulse search engine and type in Hemi-Sync, etc and you will find many old threads regarding this topic...

good post, I have tried the hemisync tapes too and they are about the best on the market and can induce projections and other lucid states, so of all the tapes these would be the best buy. Nitetraveler, I forgot all about these ones when I wrote the last post, sorry.

However they, like all alternatives, have their limits, and I would recommend you try but not waste too much money on them. Instead get your brother to make his own too, he'll be surprised at how easy and effectice this is.

I was referring specifically to subliminal tapes as the ones I was a bit skeptical of.  However, as far as Hemi-Synch tapes are concerned, I've read many great things about how effective they are and would love to try them oneday in the hopefully not-too-distant future.  My one 'complaint' though is that they ain't cheap. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shock.gif" border=0>
