Title: Help on possible False Awakening!
Post by: Sp3ctral Sh4dow on August 07, 2013, 19:51:52
Ok, so i was searching on the internet on inducing sleep paralysis today and i found on Newgrounds that laying down on your back and counting down by 100 in breaths. i tried this at 6:00 and i was really relaxed at around the 70s and i fell asleep. later i woke up and i felt weird so i thought, " this might be a false awakening!" i tried to get up but gravity was making it extremely to get up. i remember getting my back off the bed with my arms in the fighting block position then i fell back into the mentally fatigued. I've read on This Amazing Site and some people are saying during a False awakening, you are already in the OBE state. my question is, how do you get out of bed during a false awakening if this was one and if not could it have been a short lucid dream?

It actually sounds more like you woke up in Sleep Paralysis and you were separating and then gave up. Sometimes there is a dragging back, elasticated, magnetic feeling pulling you back down.

Maybe you were actually physically fighting the paralysis.

Thoughts?

Thank you Bedeekin. This is was the closest i have ever been able to separate from my body, and i didn't even know it! Next Time when i try this do i just get up out of bed completely, or do i imagine floating/rolling out?

Well you ARE projecting at that point.
You're just trying to use your muscles to get up, when you need to use your mind/consciousness.

When you find yourself in that situation again, proceed to begin a visualization that promotes movement within you.
Visualize yourself as a balloon rising up, jumping on a trampoline, diving into a pool, riding in an elevator, etc...

Any visualization that promotes the sense of movement will work for you.  Then, and this is the hard part, ALLOW whatever to happen to happen.  :)
Because you might not "get up" and be standing in your room at that point... you might shift somewhere entirely different, but realize that whatever happens, you will be fully consciously aware and you will be projecting.  :)

I step out of my body.  I get out how I would normally get out of bed, physically.  There are times when I run out of my body.  It is easy to separate because the astral body is loose from the physical body.

False awakenings... you think your awake until your hand goes through a glass of OJ, mind get does a perplexing WTF, and you snap back to body : )

Try doing reality checks in the morning on the way to brush your teeth or something : )
