From what I have read it seems that when one dies and have fully left the body for the last time a few things can happen. You may meet angels, guides, or relatives to greet you and see you to "the other side". This doorway to another plane is usually seen as a portal of light. Not all may see anyone else. They may just go through this portal. It would seem that going to another plane is somewhat optional for awhile anyway. So if someone does not try to move beyond the physical plane they may very well stay around, but for how long I cannot say. But yes everyone can reach higher realms if they try.

I assume from what you have written you are asking what happens to someone who dies suddenly and unexpectedly. I think Sixth Sense is a good example of this. I think that some people, especially if they die like this, may not realize they are dead or not want to accept it. They may hang around awhile becoming rather confused until they do realize they have died and finally move on. They may also go to an area on the astral that is just like their physical life and continue living as if nothing happened, again either not realizing they died or most likely not wanting to accept the fact.

There are few people on here that have experience with this and can answer your question better than me.

I remember Robert saying something, or it might be online or in AD, about getting on a bus and yakking away to this bloke.... then somehow he realised the guy was a spirit and told the busdriver he was practising for a play LOL

I had a friend who died under mysterious circumstances, (murdered) and we (myself and his family) had some very strange manifestations for several years afterwards. He would appear to 9drunken) friends who never knew him and described him perfectly, he xcame through in psychic readings (right down to name and personal stuff), I had dreams and senses... still feel him sometimes. I have wondered this myself -- I feel he has moved on... but he still visits... Maybe it is just pur concept of time is different to "theirs" and his visit now happened years ago in his time... Donni Dunno.

I think, ultimately, if you have a spiritual understanding, you eventually maker it where you are meant to be, like a magnet drawing you. Tho there are spirits around for hundreds of years I wonder whether this is the "shell/energy pattern" being "fed" by lower energy forms appearing as the deceased? Hmmmm.... LOL

I know I prayed for my friend to go to the light, for love and peace for him... perhaps loved ones prayers can ease any trauma -- IF there IS life after death!!!!!!

Your spirituallity while you are alive makes a big difference as to what happens when you die.  It doesn't matter if you were taken suddenly or not. Everyone has a certain amount of issues they need to sort out before they pass.  Some are unable to do so for a couple of reasons.  They may not have had enough time, as in the died at a young age, or suddenly.  They also may not have lived a good life or accepted some of the regrets that they had before they died.  Or even so simply hate and the need for revenge keeps a person here.
There are many different types of spirits, they vary as much as people do, that being the complication.  Its funny, those that pass the easiest are completely ignorant of every thing.  Those who don't have a ideas of religion, nothing bothers them, they just live and let live, they pass the easiest of all.

have you heard the stories,about ghosts from the civil war roaming around like its still going on.And they just tore down a house over here.That was really haunted.Ive known about it for a long time.And ive actually gone there.

Never went in it.But looked into it.I thought I heard some strange sounds.It could of been me,I guess I was scared.But supposedely it was built on top of a indian graveyard.And there was a few people who killed themselves in the house.Maybe because they were hearing voices?I dont know.But it was for sale for a long time.Noone ever bought it.Could it have been mad indians who couldnt get over there pain?And those people could of got stuck  in there too.

I wonder if they are free,now that the house is gone.

No offense to anyone, but why is it that every haunted building is built on Idian burial grounds?

Well if you put a structure on a burial or sacred land then you are going to have problems.  In the states it is more common than you think for it to be Indian land.  This being largely due to the driving the people around so much in the old west.  At those times there was very little respect for the dead of other cultures.  There are fewer cases like this of Christian burial sites because they have been slightly more protected.  However if you do some research into the European countries it would be just as common.

No clue but I know of alot of  other indian grave yards where I live.Nothings built over them though.And a few are totally closed off with no tresspassing signs.What happened to the indians was wrong.We took their  land.And we put them in reservations.I live right near a res.Alot of them were killed including children.Woman were raped.They had no choice but to fight.

I can see why they are very angry,.Look what we are doing to there land.All the woods I use to play in are mostly all gone.For what another walmart,another home depot.This is something that gets to me sometimes.But I didnt really have anything to do with it.So I try to let it go.I know if I lived back than I would be on there side.

Some say if something dies, for example being shot, then the spirit will say in the real-time.  If so will the spirits be able to make their way up into higher realms?
