The validity of my OBEs?

I have for some time now, had spontaneous OBEs of various frequency. I am always in sleep paralysis when I achieve them. In the beginning my problem was that I could not maintain the OBE for very long, due to me making many rookie mistakes, but I was more or less capable of validating my experiences afterward, but with the normal anomalities of course.

Lately however, my main problem is now different. I can no longer validate the reality of my experiences. For example, when I get out of my body I may not get out where my body is asleep. Another instance, I may go through a door, and it will not be the room it should be on the other side, and when I walk back another door may have materialised, leading to a new room. This has happened the last 3 times Ive been out, and each of these times I have found another presence in the room, and upon closer inspection found that its been me. What that means I have no idea. I know, I know, it says everywhere that when new rooms are starting to materialise youre slipping into the dream state, but I can tell you, its nothing like a lucid dream. Its rather exactly like having an OBE, but with these unreal things happening.

Can someone tell me whats going on, and what I can do to get back the "reality" of my OBEs?

Conventional AP philosophies would say you are actually entering the astral planes (rather than the real time zone). This could be a product of gaining confidence and experience in the OBE state. As one enters deeper into the planes, resemblance to waking reality quickly diminishes until one is in unfamiliar (and sometimes alien) landscapes.
I see the RTZ as part of the astral closest to the focus of waking day consciousness – which is why it bears such a resemblance to reality, as one move further out of focus with the physical, one moves further into the astral proper.
I find it difficult to maintain my presence in the RTZ and quickly find myself entering the astral. I've posted experiences in the past where I sat up OBE to find myself in such locations as lying in a car which was driving through an unknown place.

Pasco,

Validity of OBE's are more then just testing the environment you are in at the time of the experience. You don't need to be in the RTZ to prove if it exists or not. Sometimes when you have the experience and validate it with a friend or a book author their obe's it will align correctly to what you went through. Ex: Reading Robert Bruce's astral dynamics - said that when it rains you feel the drops bullet right through you. I had the obe and it was raining outside during the time and felt exactly what he had said - very cool!

Some validations come w/o even trying. In the rain experience I mentioned above was at my mom/dads house. I had no knowledge of the weather forecast for 150 miles away from where I live. What do you think happened later that day - it rained. I could go on about validations.

The good thing to see what is happening to you is getting out there and experimenting with the astral planes. Sit back, relax and have some fun.

Thank you for your replies, they were comforting to me. If you could bear with me however, I would like to specify my question further; I hear the astral is supposed to be full of colors and the like, but these experiences have the same shade of gray as my other OBE's. Does the astral always have vivid colors? What I'm really wondering is if this is going on in the astral, or, with the meetings with myself in mind, is it going on in some other innerspace of my mind?

Impossible for you to answer I reckon, but if you have any reflections on this I'd very much like to hear them.

All my experiences have full colour, just like waking day sight. Sometimes my sight is fuzzy, and it seems projecting in the rtz in the morning gives a blue tint to everything, but apart from that I see in colour. Perhaps you seeing in gray is just a passing thing?

Regarding your experiences, I see AP and OBEs as being internal journeys - but I see external reality as being internally experienced too :). Others see OBEs as leaving the physical body with a secondary body etc It's up to you in your own experiences to decide what you believe is true.
