Welcome to the forums Bersek Exodus [^]

Sounds like you are doing fine to me.  About the rope, don't feel bad..never worked for me either, I would tense up on that one.  I have literally crawled away from my physical before..sorta of a combination of roll out and dragging myself out..[:P]

Just keep up the good work, you will prevail!!

Hi Berserk Exodus,

You are very much welcome to the forum [:)]

First of all congratulations on choosing to join this highly charged and atmospheric forum! With a name like Berserk Exodus will no doubt get plenty of attention tut-suite!

Looks like you are very close to full conscious projection. Personally I have never been able to use the rope technique very well, but climbing stairs and ladders seems to work little bit better for me somehow on the few recent OBE sojourns enjoyed. Anyhow my sad excuse is that my forte is more along the lines of Communications [:o)]

Good luck and look forward to seeing you join in the fun.

So as always over to the experts... (good ladies and gents)!

Thanks for the responses.  I needed some self-affirmation from experienced people if you know what I mean.  [|)] Good confidence builder.

I'm going to keep trying, and I will let you guys know when I do finally reach my goal!  The whole reason I got into astral projection is because I wanted to know something about myself.  I always knew there was something beyond the physical, but I always knocked the thought down.  I was brought up a hard-line atheist mostly by my brother.  After reading up on a bit of metaphysics and existentialism (Mostly Descartes) I realized, how can we stop existing if we are?  Surely it doesn't end at this shallow existence known as "life".  There must be something greater than just the monotonous cycles of life.  As Aristotle told us, all men desire to know.  I want to know if this existence is not the end.

One thing you might try that doesn't involve a lot of effort but is pretty effective is to use interrrupted sleep. Get up 2 hours early, stay up for on hour and read about astral projection. lay back down and go to sleep for the last hour. There is a good chance you'll wake up in vibrations, paralysis, or an outright OBE. if it's paralysis do deep breaths until you separate.

Yeah.

You see, I'm getting to that point where I know I'm close but the vibrations just wont start.  I get that buzzing across different parts of my body, but no vibrations.  I tried again about an hour ago, and didn't get them.  How long are you supposed to hold the projection techniques?

I'm thinking that any mental technique that exteriorizes concioussness would work.  Even just walking.  But does it have to be focused, repeated exercise to work?

Hi Berserk Exodus,

In my opinion, you are trying to hard for a result.
That may sound silly, but you need to have the attitude that you are going to execute the techniques properly whether or not you get the desired result.  It always happens for me when I am meditating without the desire to project.  When the vibrations start, I use the floating technique and simply float straight up.  But, I dont start out trying to project.  I meditate everyday and when i happen to notice vibrations, I take that as an opportunity to kick off the body for a while.

Hope that helps,

Syrus

Maybe, but as it is said, whatever works works.

I think I'm pretty sure what the problem is.  My bed.  My bed is not a bed at all.  It is a foldable metal couch-bed which has a two inch thick futon on it with lumps everywhere.  Yes, that must be it because I've been having a lot of back and neck tension in that damned bed, and that has been the only place I have used the techniques.  I will try some other bed or couch next time.

I'm having a case of the insomnia right now, it's 3 o' clock in the morning and I can't fall asleep.  I need to buy a new bed.

I am going to project.

I first discovered the notion of astral projection during the christmas holiday.  I was on forum about dreaming, and it was discussed.  I think it was quite lucky on my part because the first time I had ever tried I caught myself waking up.  I focused on that ringing noise like someone recommended on that forum and within a couple of minutes I got huge vibrations.  I gained astral sight, but at the time I didn't realize that astral travel was at the speed of thought.  So I failed and simply drifted into sleep once again.

School returned, because of this I wasn't trying anymore.  I became obsessed with all things astral and bought Robert's book, Astral Dynamics, and studied it intensely.  I spent weeks doing energy work, but about month later I forgot all about it.  Summer finally came and for about 4 days I've been trying to project from the awakened state at least once a day.  I find that I easily get into trance, and if I hold it long enough I get a buzzing flow in my legs that stays there as long as I don't move, it even continues after I stand up!  Every once and awhile I can go into a deep, deep trance where I am spinning if I just focus on it.  Heck, now I've been going into trance inconveniently, while trying to go to sleep!  My only problem is deep physical relaxation which I am getting much better at, and projection exit technique.

When I try to focus on raising energy and meditating, I seem to tense my eyebrows, which can only be relaxed conciously.  I think I may be very, very close to a concious exit projection.

The other problem, the rope technique, as simple as it is, does not work for me.  The rope seems to spin everywhere when I try to pull it, I can't really figure out why.  I passed over Robert's Rocket technique in the book and discovered it. I am going to try that tonight.

Three questions:

How close do you think I am to projection?

What do you think I am doing wrong?

Is movement in projectable body much like thinking yourself to move, but not actually trying to move your legs?

I would greatly appreciate some input. [:D]
