How do I communicate with my spirit guides

I've had AP's, Lucid dreams, but I have never been able to communicate with my spirit guides.  I have gone to bed with the intention of having some sort of communication but after years of trying nothing yet.  Am I blocking this communication in some way? 

Is there any way to communicate with my spirit guides or I just have to wait until the setting is right?

you dont have to project to communicate with another spirit.  The method of trance I use works well for me.  There are many communication aids out there. Check out instrumental transcommmunication.  I believe its very important when attempting communication to focus in the divine source of love.  This us very powerful and aims you in the right direction. It will make it easier for your guide to get through to you. The guide can teach you to project or whatever else you want to do. Its also important to believe you can communicate.

Time frame. This isn't a quick easy project for most people.  I developed clairaudience after working at least twice daily every day for about 8 months. I was also in seclusion having no outside contact other than work and church.

I would like to say that the examples mcdwg explains are also methods I used when first trying to speak to those in the after, guides, souls and any others that find my mind. One other method you can try is to use words in your mind to spell things out. Start by spelling out hello and see if you get a response. The other trick to this is how you place these words in your mind, find the highest placement in your head to place these words this will allow you to use your higher mind and not the throat area that we use in conversation. Think of it like this when you read a book the words are in the throat area but when you are trying to imagine the words of what you read this forms in the higher mind, this is where you need to be. Now when you phase try and focus in this area to begin with. I speak to my guide everyday about many things.

My experience tells me Spirit Guides come to you when you need them most.  There was a time of a couple months when I felt my Spirit Guide every single day and got advice from him in dreams.
Now that I'm in a better place than I was, I don't feel his presence as much, or see him in dreams - even with the largest intent. 

I think you kind of run on their schedule when it comes to meeting with them.

I myself personally have never consciously experienced the presence or even existence of a spirit guide. I truly wish with all my heart that such an entity truly existed and to be able to communicate with it though!

I do find the concept itself of having a spirit guide slightly confusing however, since people I respect such as Robert Monroe and Tom Campbell clearly state that one of the conditions of life on earth is that we surrender all possibilities of receiving outside help. Yet at the same time both claim to have interacted with such entities nonetheless!

You have, you just haven't learned "how to listen" yet.

You can "interact" with spirit guides by quieting your mind (meditation), asking your question, then remaining completely open to however the answer might come.  Chances are excellent that it won't be verbally.  I've only ever heard anything verbally a couple of times when trying to interact with "non-physical" beings.  What you'll mostly get are "feelings" and "perceptions" which you then must interpret, but you can definitely interact with (for lack of a better term) "spirits".

Those two individuals (and definitely not Tom Campbell) have definitely not said that.  I take Tom Campbell's views on "spirit guides".  They're nothing from "outside" yourself... they come "out of" the LCS (larger consciousness system) when you need help.  He calls them an "interface" with the LCS.  You're part of the LCS as much as anything else, so technically, they come out of you.  You are everything, afterall. 

This is also how people have access to what they metaphorically call the "Akashic Records".  It's nothing mystical or magical... it's that you are a part of everything, so you have access to everything as well.

Who knows really.  It's all consciousness... so, in a sense (or literally even), it's a part of you.

Hello, as Xanth said, it's all part of you, I'd like to clarify this for those, that as me, never quite good understood what this meant.

The existance of All that Is, is eternal and perpetual, meaning it has no Beggining and no End.

Man, in his foolish attempts to understand Everything, searches outward and fixes its gaze in All what lies in front of his Eyes, he is so amazed by the magnificense of things to be created or destructued, that he forgets his origin, where the seed of his Life Spring, where Everything comes and goes in both Directions at the same time.

This is the foolish attempt to understand the imcomprehensible and inmeasurableness of Things. So we, instead, look forward to those things that arrange themselves in proportion to us, those things we can use, feel, percieve, and forget about the infinitness that spreads inwardly and outwardly, never ceasing to amaze us.

Your inmortal soul, that resides handling your Brain, this Foreign Machine to him/her, has its Home in the deepness of the Microcosm, where all soul's dwell, and come and go and wander around freely doing whatever they want to do for their own personal Growth for Eternity. This Never Ends.
