Well I've been working hard every day for a couple of months now, reading AP material a few hours a day and practicing projecting a few times a day. I've made some great progress but I have a ways to go still. I think a problem I have that most people here probably don't is that I'm an incredibly light sleeper. It usually takes me forever to fall asleep. At least 1 night a week I'll lay awake for a few hours or longer before falling to sleep, just thinking. I wake up extremely easily as well. Because of this, it is incredibly difficult for me to enter the mind awake, body asleep state. What I have to do is basically just go through my affirmations and get as relaxed as possible, and just allow myself to nose dive into sleep. Because I'm such a light sleeper I always end up waking up as soon as the vibrations kick in, and when I wake up my body pumps the adrenaline right away and I become very alert, which kills the SP right away. The other thing that happens is as soon as I fall asleep I feel like a hot liquid rush through my body and a very strong floating sensation, which also wakes me up immediately. I'll find a way to overcome this in time I'm sure. I am having a huge increase in my hypnagogic sensations now as I always hear loud noises or screams of lost souls or my name being called by my parents when I'm projecting. So I take that as a sign that I'm making progress at least.

My question is regarding my third eye vision. I've been using Frank's method of letting my awareness shift up to my third eye/crown area and doing the "noticing" method from there. This has been so effective that over the past week I've actually kept waking up looking out through my third eye as if I'm having an OBE, either staring at my ceiling or at my wall if I'm sleeping on my side. It surprises me and then I wake up. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm still in my body, but my third eye keeps getting activated and I wonder why I can get that to activate, but I can't get my energy body to leave? I haven't read anything about this particular thing happening yet so it just seems strange.
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep; because my dreams are bursting at the seams.

Aaron, if you are seeing your ceiling or your walls with your eyes shut, you have already shifted. Just change your intended destination to your kitchen or living room area. You will find that now you can see them too.

Frank's and Xanth's noticing methods don't involve actual systematic separation from the physical body. They just require a shift in consciousness.

I think you may be confusing the OBE methods with Phasing. Pick either one and practice that. If after awhile you don't like it or don't see favorable results, then try the other!

Mmmk, that makes sense. The thing is it happens so fast I haven't yet had the time to think about anything else. I'll be looking at the ceiling for 5-7 seconds and then it will go back to black and I'll wake up. Then I will immediately realize "oh that wasn't a dream, I was definitely looking at my ceiling with my eyes shut". Next time I think I will catch it.

I do the "noticing" method simply because it helps put me to sleep fast. I can never get any images to form past the very misty, blury white blob-ish state. But it works like a meditation that helps keep my thinking mind at bay while I shift. It's been working pretty well so far, and hopefully it will help me become better at phasing over time as well.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to learn the phasing method?

It was very fast. But that's because my curiosity was the driving force behind it.

I learned to relax, release, let go and ALLOW what's going to happen to happen.

This is very hard for most because while in this physical existence here, we normally have control over what we are doing, where we are going and also how we are going to get there.

When you just give in and ALLOW what's going to happen to happen, you have to use all the trust you can muster, period.

Changing my mindset on the entire process made it much easier as well. That's where all of the videos and books I have read on this subject came into play. Especially Tom Campbell's. He has a different approach then most and if you give his videos a chance, his theories will open your eyes to a new reality. But then and I mean this is the most important thing, you MUST prove what is happening for yourself. I always say "I believe half of what I hear, but everything I see". So, it doesn't become a part of my reality until I prove to myself that it is.

I'll have to look him up. I've heard alot about him but haven't read any of his stuff yet. I think I'm probably a long way off from being able to phase, because I have the feeling that it's ALOT easier to learn once you've actually been to the astral. The more times you go, the easier it gets, so I hear. I think I'm pretty close to the generic OBE, so once I get good at that I will begin learning the phasing method. There are just SO many advantages to it. So when I do get ready to learn it, I will remember your advice!

You can either go to do a Youtube.com search or use our search engine here. We have many great videos by Tom.

This one is the go-to one that we use often here.

Here is one from a thread I posted in the Moderator Forum back in 2012. I gave the important go to times (helpful portions) of the video for people that just wish to see things pertaining to their questions, instead of the whole video (which is very good).

" Hello guys, here is a new video from Thomas Campbell, one of his best and descriptive yet. I broke it down into helpful portions. This what I got so far from it. The entire video is excellent, but as usual it's hard to get anyone to watch the entire thing, just too long to keep interest for those quick answer people.
From beginning - 40:00 minute spot. Meditation and Binaural Beats
Evidence and Proof - 40 minute -59 minute
*Fear Based scenario -1:00:00 minute to 1:07:00
Out of Body explanation starts at 1:07:00
I really like the fear description. It was thorough and right to the point. This is a great video to use to help people understand what is really happening with Astral Travel. The entire thing is broken into 3 days, as usually is with Thomas Workshops. Friday was on how things work.On Saturday of his video he showed his audience how to Remote View and Heal.
Sunday was more of how to get there, techniques, etc. This one seems to be the most helpful for people trying to learn the ropes.
Here is the entire link starting Friday. It has a chain to find your intended day easier.

Here is another great Q & A from Tom as well.

Wow fantastic resource! Thanks for posting this. I will give that first video a listen tomorrow. I am absolutely drowning in AP material LOL. I think its great, because its enough to keep me going and interested for months to come, even though I am a vivacious reader. I am currently finishing up William Buhlman's "Adventures beyond the Body", then I am going to read all three Monroe "Journeys" books. Then I have the entire PDF of Robert Bruce's "Astral Dynamics" to read through. I am going through his "Mastering AP" 90 day program as well which has its own reading. I am also currently on page 202 of 1187 of the Frank's entire posts pdf. I spend about 45 minutes a day reading that, and find his posts to be by far the most intriguing and educational reading material on AP I've read so far. Now I will add all of Thomas Cambell's videos and books to my list as well :)

Lol, you are starting to sound like myself and many others here. When I first started to learn AP, I had 3 PDF's on my computer, 4 books yet to read and constantly went to YouTube.com and other Forums for any info pertaining to the subject.

If that didn't instill my intent into my conscious and subconscious mind, than nothing would, lol!   :-)

Haha! That's great, that is exactly the phase I'm in right now. The more I read, the more interesting it all becomes and the more obsessed I become thinking about it. I was talking with a few Christian fundy friends of mine at the gym the other day, and one of them was telling me how he "fell to the dark side of new age beliefs" years ago and started meditating, and described how he had an astral projection while meditating. He met a being of light who tried to offer him knowledge on how to make his parent's business an overnight success and he immediately thought of the story of Adam and Eve, being tempted with "the knowledge of good and evil" and the Bible verse that says "Satan comes dressed as an angel of light" and he screamed at the being "NO! GET BEHIND ME SATAN!!" To which the being vanished and he was sent back to the physical. He was trying to tell me how "evil" it was and how it confirmed all his Christian beliefs, but I was just ticked as sh*t at the fact that he AP'd on accident basically and didn't even believe in it. I was like "What?! How did you do it? Describe to me exactly what your technique was!" and he was like "why do you want to know? it's witchcraft dude" LOL. I just played it off like "oh no reason, just sounds interesting is all"

When I was driving home I was like "WTF even my $#%* Fundy friends who don't believe in AP can F#$%ing do it! Arrgghh"

Lol.  My Word of Faith (health and wealth) Christian friends would give anything for an experience like that!

LOL right? "IT'S A MESSAGE FROM GAWD! HALLELUJAH!"

It's funny how much stuff Christians drastically disagree on (I know because I was one for 24 years). One Christian thinks its the Devil, the other thinks its God....

One of my special talents is being able to imitate almost every Televangelist there is spot on. Grew up with my dad and grandparents constantly watching TBN, so there was always one of them on. Now I can get them all rolling on the floor from doing impersonations of them even though they still think they are "great men of God" and such. Good times :)

Ha-Ha!  Have you ever seen 'The Farting Preacher'  on You-tube?  Someone inserted fart noises into his sermon at appropriate times.  When I watched it I thought it was hilarious, but had no idea he was a real preacher because of his mannerisms and some of weird things he was saying.  I told one of my Word of Faith friends about it and he let me know that he was a real preacher.  I don't think he was amused.  oops! :)

Dude that video has been around for probably 10 years. I remember watching it with my dad (who is a pastor) when I was like 15, and we laughed so hard we cried. It's like...bro...when you act like that, you can't fault someone for making a farting parody video of you. You had it coming.

I think I'm gonna go watch it right now for old times sake :)
