I need help getting into a trance any body know of any way to go into a trance without laying there all day like i do.
Try when you're sleepy or when you've just woken up from sleep :-)
There are many names for the "Trance state".
Trance...
Sleep Paralysis...
Mind Awake/Body Asleep...
Focus 10...
There's no "easy" way to get into a Trance, it generally just takes practice. First thing though, is that you can't "just lie there"... you actually have to do something to induce the trance state. What you have to do is keep your mind active while your physical body's five physical sense input begins to shut down. I call this Physical Body Disassociation... and I believe it begins the moment you close your eyes and remain still.
Then you need to quiet your surface thoughts... retaining control over your mind is very important to attain this state AND when you finally do get to projecting. A noisy, chaotic mind means you can't control where you end up.

Find something to focus on while letting your body deeply relax like it's in the process of falling asleep. This can be breathing or hiss in your ears or a visualization or "noticing" - there are lots of ideas in the FAQ & Permanent Topics sections. The point is to just passively observe while the body slows down it's processes. You can't force it or try to do it, you just do it.
Long ago when I first started I did this exercise suggested by a hypnotist...I have since heard other people mention it but I forget what its called. Anyway, start from your feet & work your way up. Tense each muscle for like 5 seconds as hard as you can, then release. Do your whole body, even scrunch up your face. Whatever you have to do. This relaxes your body a lot. After that make sure you do not move your body at all. Take deep breaths...at some point you should feel a shift in consciousness, don't get excited. It takes time, it might be easier to listen to some kind of hemi-sync so you can get an idea of what it feels like. Yoga is also a good way to relax the body for trance. Good luck!

The best way to get into a trance would depend on what kind of person you are (visual, auditory, tactile) but all with the goal of disassociation with your body as mentioned above. If you are a visual person, doing active visualisations should be a good way to disassociate. If you are auditory (as I am) then listening to the ringing in your ears or binaurals may be the best option. If you are a tactile person then imagining yourself dropping (in an elevator or climbing ladders) and feeling the sensations associated with these activities should would help you disassociate.
But as already said by the others, you need to disassociate with your body to the point where you dont even consider it.
