That depends entirely on the individual.  If you are having trouble remembering try writing them down 5-10 mins after you wake.

However most peoples memory gets hazzier with the more time that passes.  Its normal.  But you can work on memory retention to increase the amount of time until eventually you can recount almost every thing you do.

Again, I am speaking from my own personal experience.  If I were to get up right away after having an experience, depending on the length of it, I can remember almost 100% of it.  Sometimes remembering long dialogues are tough for me, but the experience itself is very fresh, because my full, waking consciousness is with my on my journey.

However, if you don't record this experience right away but slip off into a dream afterwards, then the experience may seem very dreamlike.  Details will be hard to remember, and it's very possible that you could forget about the OBE altogether.  My last experience was like this, which drives me crazy, because I started to make contact with a guide.  However, because I never wrote it down right away but continued to sleep, I forgot a lot of the experience.

Yet another agreement with Jeff.
My experience is still with LDs only but here's what works for me: After a lucid dream I replay the dream until I can recall no more detail. I tried writing the dreams in a journal but found that the act of writing was too involved and blocked a good deal of detail.
On good nights I can recite the entire dream almost verbosely (some conversations for some reason elude recollection), on bad nights I can recall broad circumstances (like general surroundings, whether there were others, feelings etc) but no detail.

Heres what I think is a great Idea if you happen to have a palm recorder and I just happen to have one http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> Its gotta be a lot easier to blurt your dreams or obe's onto tape first and then  transpose them  to computer or paper later.
Let me know what you think is this a good idea or are there reasons it might have drawbacks. Thanks for listening

I can remember mine like something that just happened most of the time.If I go back to sleep forget about it.I may recall some parts of it.But most of it is lost. There have been some exceptions though.

.And I too have a very hard time remembering conversations which really sucks.I know ive probably been told some info that could of been useful.http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_sad.gif" border=0>

Windameir:
Your idea dont sound half bad. What you have to do is find something that works for you.So try out diff things over time you will know whats best.I use a notebook if I do have an experience that is worth remembering.Only if I am going back to sleep though.

I read it over when I wake up and thats all.Never to be looked at again.

Here's a perfect example of how important it is to write these down.

This morning, I awoke from a dream around 4:00am, because I had to pee.  Before I even got out of bed, I thought to myself, "Are you going to remember this dream?"  The answer was, "Of course!  It's clear as day!"

I even mentally went over the dream in my head one more time before getting out of bed.  I walked into the bathroom, peed, and asked myself again, "Ok....you're out of bed, you're done peeing....do you still remember it?"

Yep, I did!  So I went into the kitchen to get some water.  After drinking, I walked back to my bed, laid down, and asked myself once more if I remembered the dream.  I did, so I went to sleep.

Now it's only a couple hours later, and f**k me running, I can't remember a thing!

Hello there:

Sometimes I remember Obe at 100%, other times I remember things but dont know what happend first and last, and sometimes I cant remember a thing and just wake up with the feeling of having gone somewhere. I have notice something also: even If I remember the whole experience, most of the times I just remember part of it. Last night I remember going out, walked on the roof, contacted with my father, and returned. But this was just what I was doing at real time zone because my spirit was traveling somewhere else in higher planes at the same time. When I woke up I talked to my father and he told me we were traveling, flying over a valley last night. When I was out of body I remember holding his hand in my bedroom while listening to the sound of a spiritual river. He felt me too, and hear the river also but he saw diferent things. I think we met out of body and traveled then to other places. He cant remember that part in the real time zone and I cant remember the vally, but we were both in both dimensions at the same time.

When u finish an obe, are you sussposed to remember it as a dream which are sometimes barely rememberable or are you susposed to remember it as if it just happend, such as if you are to come home from work or school?

Every man has their fear of dieing, whether it be of pain or not knowing where you are going, however, mine is the family, memories, and good times i leave behind.
