I was reading Franks method for phasing, closing my eyes and focusing on whatever I see. Well, to my surprise, when I do this I see exactly what Frank describes. Before I know it, I feel the vibes and then I feel my body get light, sort of a weightless sensation. So far so good. The next phase is where I run into problems, my heart starts beating rapidly with a little more gusto than usual. I try to exit, but nothing happens. I feel I'm using the right technique but perhaps my body isn't rested enough.

This has been so frustrating because I can hit the vibrational stage every time I attempt it, I just can't exit.

I've had two OBE's now and both times they were without trying. Am I trying too hard? I always thought that things that are worth having are worth working for.

Has anyone else gone through a stage like this and just kept at it until you achieved success?

Robert Bruce says this is common -- you feel the vibrations then nothing.

According to him, you have exited. The problem is, you did not remember the projection. A copy of you was made and left, while you were sitting there, frustrated that you didn't exit.

Next time this happens, tell yourself to remember to come back after just a few seconds. Out of nowhere, you will suddenly receive memories of your exit, which will be added to your memories of feeling bummed that you didn't exit.

If you stay out for too long, you might not be able to remember, so "keep the first few ones short, one short OBE you remember is better than 1000 OBEs you forget," to paraphrase Mr. Bruce.

You have no idea how common it is. You just have to keep at it. There's no secret trick involved - just keep trying. A search for "vibrations" will come up with a whole lot of threads where people asked very similar questions. Including one from myself.

I guess I should be happy about the fact that I actually get to the point of feeling weightless. I'll keep plugging away and reading some more about what others are doing. I'm more than a little anxious you know, I need to accumulate my frequent flyer miles!

You are definitely on the right track, Jub.  In many cases, having a successful projection is all about setting up the right conditions, and then doing nothing else.

Think of it like lining up a bunch of dominos in a row.  That is the preparation to project.  Then, once the domino on the end begins to tip, the rest happens naturally.

You are "setting up the dominos" by relaxing your mind, meditating, setting your intent to project, etc.  The trick is to set things up so that first domino starts to fall, and then not get too excited (or too sleepy) to blow the experience!

Keep at it though, you are on the right track.

I thought I would give you all an update.

This morning, apprx 5am I felt the vibrations. I tried to do the "float up" exit technique, but to no avail. I then remembered the "roll to your side" technique but I felt like I was stuck to my body with glue! I pulled and pulled but just couldn't get unstuck! I then gave up, sat up and walked into the bedroom (I was on the couch). I looked in the mirror and there I was. I heard the shower so I walked into the bathroom and my wife was standing on the vanity taking a shower! I thought WTF? Then I was back on the couch! I couldn't believe what just happened!

This was the first time I ever walked on my feet in an OBE and the whole time I thought I was wide awake! Now I know what people mean by false awakenings. Very freaky!

I'm excited now that the OBE's are coming more frequent. I know this is probably boring to you "old timers" but maybe it will inspire someone who has not projected yet.

Congratulations, jub jub.  I'm glad you finally had one.  It's always exciting.

Hi jub jub

It's never boring to read about someone's OBE!

Congratulations and here's to many more...  :celebrate:
