Greetings Quiet Storm,

I have felt very little vibrations during meditation. Usually around the solar plexus area and the heart chakra. Its weird though. I feel vibrations for about 5 to 10 seconds, then I don't feel any again for about 10 minutes and then I get them again for another 5 to 10 seconds or so followed by 10 minutes of no vibrations and this continues until I feel I have been meditating for too long (usually about 1 hour to 1.5 hours) and I just stop meditating. BTW I usually meditate lying down, if that bit of information does anything.

Some people feel vibration before AP/OBE some don`t. Try to locate the source of your vibrations and to intensify them.
Here is a nice thread, that might give you extra ideas http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1647

During meditation I always get urges to scratch myself. I get itches alot, I dont know why. They are all over my body, I have had this all my life. But sometimes I just think its my mind playing tricks on me because they don't really feel like itches, it feels like someone is tickling me in that spot. I know I know, its weird.

Try to use aromatic candle, that might help to distract your attention from itches.

6. When I meditate, I feel alot of sensation in my head. Pressure, my consciousness shifting, feeling like something wants to pop out of my head, tingling around my brow center. What could all this mean? Am I close to projection?

Yes you are close to projection.  If you want to have an OBE use some imaginery tools to pull yourself out of body. Like rope, etc.
If you want to use phasing to AP which I would recommend you to do , you have to direct/shift you awareness to place where you want to go. Check Frank post at  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2315&whichpage=3 to find futher details.

(last one) Sometimes while in trance state images start forming from the blackness behind my eyelids. But as soon as I realize I see forming images, which is very quickly, I become aware again. I dont want to losing consciousness because I can fall asleep, and I dont want that. When I become aware of them, the images disappear. Am I supposed to let those images form? Is this perhaps one of those "focus levels" some people mention on this website?
Let the images form, be a passive observer. Just keep you intend(i.e place where you want to project, etc) in mind.

Osiris.

Hi Quiet Storm,

Welcome to the Astral Pulse forum. You can certainly get a lot of help in answering your questions here. There are a lot of good people with a lot of knowledge to share. You might want to take a look at some of the previous threads that cover most of what you ask. It's easy to do. Just find where it says "search" or "advanced search" at the top of the page here, and then put in a few key words, such as "new energy ways" or vibrations" for example. You will come up with a lot of good information that way.

As for Astral Dynamics, I've read it several times, and still refer back to it as reference. My personal preference is the book to the download, but that is just me. I'm sure others have different opinions. We just take what we can from each resource and apply what we learn to ourselves. Because we're individuals that way, often one person's benefits and experiences vary from another's.

Regarding vibrations, I'm no expert, however I do believe that some people may feel a mild tingling while others a much stronger sensation. The best bet is to keep reading AD. There are also a few other books to read along the way, such as by Robert Monroe, Robert Peterson, William Buhlman, Bruce Moen, Scott Rogo, and Muldoon & Carrington, to name a few. These authors will also help you to understand some of what you're experiencing, although your individual experience is unique.

The itching sensations are common. People have different ways of dealing with them. For me, it's been best to ignore it, although that's not always possible. They become less of an issue in time.

Regarding your eyes. They should be closed. You may want to work on your relaxation. The goal is to get to the mind-awake/body-asleep state (which Robert Monroe refers to as Focus 10). This is not as easy as it sounds for some, but it is a necessary state nonetheless.

The brow center tingling could mean that you have an active brow chakra. I have a similar sensation even when I'm not doing my astral sessions, I will still feel it pulsate at times. I actually like it though.

Again, I'm no expert with images. I do something different from the traditional obe called astral phasing. When the images and patterns start for me it means I'm in Focus 12 (to use a Robert Monroe phrase). Perhaps someone else can give you a hand there, but the books cover a lot of the pre-obe sensations, and that might help.

Hope some of the above helps a bit. There are members who have different experiences from me and hopefully they'll share some of that too.

Very best,

seems like phasing into the astral dimension is easier than trying to reach it through projecting out of body. When you phase into the astral dimension, are you out of body? While in the astral dimension can you go back into real-time?

I guess real-time projecting is harder than phasing. That won't stop me from projecting though. I have alot of sightseeing to do in the real-time world. But for some reason I have more interest right now in real-time projecting. I want to project out of body first, do my sightseeing, THEN when Im ready to see something more, and out of this world, go into the astral dimension. I want to see freinds while real-time projecting.

Is it possible that I can see freinds in the astral dimension too? Would it even be the REAL person's astral body or just the body of the person but not have the real mind and all, sort of like a dream person, and not the real astral body of the person.

For me, and that's all I have to go on, the conscious exit projection has brought me limited success. Then, I read Frank's posts and corresponded with him (you should read his Gateway 1 pointers and also read the topic by Adrian entitled Achieving consciousness state for Astral Phasing) and decided to try astral phasing. The phasing method has produced definite results in my astral sessions and so that is what I now do.

Not in the sense that you're thinking, which is that of the traditional obe. I'm still relatively new at phasing, and by no means an expert, but when you phase to a particular Focus level you are there, believe me. For some good background from someone much farther along than me, I would encourage you to take a look at the posts by Frank as I've stated above.

With respect to your remaining questions, I will defer to others.

Very best to you in your astral endeavors,

Whats the difference between phasing and OBE? I've been calling it all OBE.

This use to big a huge problem for me also, but as Nick states it seems to pass with time.
One time my nose kept itching, I had scratched it several times then the last time I reached up to scratch, it was my Astral hand that came up!! Imagine my surprise?..lol.

Quiet Storm

wussup everyone! I'm new to all of this so please bear with me. Some of my questions might seem a little newbieish.

I recently purchased the Astral Dynamics book about 2 weeks ago. I am on the NEW Energy Ways chapter of the book. Its a real good book.

I have some questions.

1. Is the NEW Energy Ways online guide better than the one in the book? Do you recommend that I read the online version even after I read the book version to gain more knowledge, or is it basically the same thing?

2. I have a problems with trying to project. I have been meditating for the past 3 or 4 weeks trying to project or at least trying to enter trance state. I have ran into some problems. I have reached the trance state (I think). I feel heaviness in my body, but I have not felt any numnbness associated with the trance state which has been mentioned by people who write projection. Do I have to feel numbness to be considered in trance?

3. I have felt very little vibrations during meditation. Usually around the solar plexus and the heart chakra areas. I try to make the vibrations continue but they always stop. BTW I usually meditate lying down, if that bit of information does anything.

4. Maybe its just an overactive energy body. Who knows? Anyone?

5. During meditation, it takes alot of effort to keep my eyelids closed. Sometimes I feel like my eyelids are opening slowly. Im not trying to hard, I try to relax as much as possible but sometimes when I try to relax my eyelids start to slowly open up but it gets better as time passes and then it gets easier keeping my eyelids closed. Usually my whole body is relaxed but the only thing that stays tense is my eyes and eyelids, and the muscles around my eyes. What can be causing my eyes to always be opening up like this? Do I have to have my eyes in a certain position? My eyes are always moving. Beleive me I am not working too hard, Im just having trouble keeping my eyeballs still and my eyelids closed. Not much of a problem but if someone would tell me what to do with my eyes that would keep my eyelids closed with minimal effort it would help alot.

6. When I meditate, I feel alot of sensation in my head. Pressure, my consciousness shifting, feeling like something wants to pop out of my head, tingling around my brow center. What could all this mean? Am I close to projection?

7. (last one) Sometimes while in trance state images start forming from the blackness behind my eyelids. But as soon as I realize I see forming images, which is very quickly, I become aware again. I dont want to losing consciousness because I can fall asleep, and I dont want that. But when I become aware of them, the images disappear. Am I supposed to let those images form? Is this perhaps one of those "focus levels" some people mention on this website? Is there any way to enter those focus level without having to listen to the tapes the Monroe Institute sells?

Please if you read this post and have some answers, dont hesitate to write back. I am trying to learn as much as possible about Astral Dynamics. It is very interesting. I am fascinated by Astral Projection. I just want to learn more, see how much I can learn and do with it.

Thanks, feedback will be appreciated.
