What type of projection are you having?  Ethereal or astral?  Increase your vibrations and ascend to the astral if you are in the ethereal.  Expand your consciousness and ask for your guide, Focus 27 is a good meeting place.  Let images come to you and reflect on them.  They can seem to be totally random, but often are not.  Sometimes you are spoken to in a metaphor on a higher level.  Embrace it and learn from it.

Definately work on achieving the different Focus states if you haven't already.  That should be your first step.  Only once you are comfortable shifting into each Focus begin to explore.

Hi RonC2,
Thank you very much for your reply. But I must say that I don't relate to the terminology you're using. Perhaps I need to do some studying first. What is ethereal,  what is astral, and where is focus 27? How can I increase the vibrations if I don't have any? And how can I expand my consciousness? Is it easy to do? I noticed that my experiences varied in terms of levels or focuses but I don't control them. Could you recommend maybe a good reading or starting point for me? Thanks.

http://www.qcentral.com/index.html This is probably the most infomative site I've come across.  The "Focus" terminology was developed by Robert Monroe.  There are several other terms for these states.  This site will go into detail about the different focus states, expanding your consciousness, vibrations and astral travel.  Ethereal projection is projection here on Earth, Astral is on the planes.

The entire site is full of information.  Hope that helps.

just read the forums and read the free books

I would suggest you look at some of the articles here Lumena
http://www.astralpulse.com/articles/articles.htm

And start quizzing everyone on this site :)

As for a starting point,
my one suggestion would be to start doing some meditation and explore your thoughts, feelings and senses whilst moving between different levels of meditation.
And enjoy it.

Thanks, terrance, I will certainly check out these articles. As for the meditation thing - I don't think it is for me. I tried it, but it bores me even more than my OBEs, I just don't have that much patience.

I think what I really wanted to hear is how I can make my experiences be more interesting and usefull. And what other people try to achieve after the first excitement starts fading away. My OBEs were always unique but not what I was looking for. I guess I was expecting that something would happen that will bring me to a 'higher' level of these experiences. But nothing hapenned and I got frustrated at first and then lost my interest in these them. Don't know if I am explaining myself clear here - I am not good with words, but hope it's not so confusing.

Yes, you made sense for me.

It's true that your standard meditaion techniques are quite boring and therefore of little value if you're not fully engaged with them.  Meditative methods I think are quite necessary to reach a state where you can seperate/phase and have an OBE.  The trick then (if it's OBEs you're after) would be to find a meditation technique that is fun and engaging.  You could for example have a roleplay sequence of events set in your imagination - like walking to a river and floating in the water - as part of a whole series of things.  These can become boring but you may find interesting results, especially if you imagine really experiencing these mindscapes and fully engage witth them.

If it's a higher understanding of the self and the achievement of better connectivity you're after then there's plenty of cool, spiritual things you can do instead of OBEs.

Enjoy the journey

HI all,
I'm new here and I would like to hear your opinions on this. A few years ago after I learned about a possibility of any person to have the OBEs, I was able to start having them on my own. I got to the point where I was having them on a regular basis - every week or so and once almost generated it on my own in a daytime.  It was very interesting and exciting time of my life. But after 3,5 years of having these experiences I started to think of what good they could do for me besides just having a fun time. I wanted to learn something from them, something that would help my growth and expend my knowledge. Several times I tried to ask for a companion/teacher/guide but I would either get nothing or something ridiculous - like once I saw what seemed to be my cat, he was not talking to me or anything and I didn't feel safe somehow around him and freaked out. The other time I saw myself and also was not ready for it. So I stopped asking for this. I started to think about something else. But couldn't think of anything good. I tried to just let the experience take over and lead me to whatever is best, but I would just fly somewhere without any interesting destinations or end up dreaming and fall back asleep. I got frustrated about the whole thing. The OBEs started to be more infrequent, rare and now I haven't had them at all for several months. Sometimes I could get conscious while asleep but I don't either remember having OBEs after that or I don't have them anymore. I miss them now and would like to start having them again. But I don't know what I should do when I do have one. Does anybody have any good ideas? I know I might sound stupid or crazy but this is really important to me. Have you had anything similar happened to you? What do you do while you are in OBE? What are you hoping to get from these experiences? Any suggestions or shared experiences are welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you.
