Confusion with conscious separation

Okay, so I know without a shadow of a doubt I can induce vibrations, though I'm still working out doing it consistently.

My question is for those who can consciously separate, is it more of doing it physically, but your body is paralyzed, so your astral body moves instead? Or is it moving mentally through visualization, or moving by sheer will "I will get out of my body." Or a combination? I know there are a ton of techniques. I'm able to visualize really well since I'm an artist and a daydreamer, but I'm not sure if just visualizing is enough. I've also heard that just screaming at yourself can force yourself to wake up.

Anyone else know where I'm coming from, or know if this question has already been addressed?

Hey guys new here, but am quite interested. So, i have tried doing these obes, but always end up going to sleep. So yesterday i was determined, right, and so i relaxed fully and there came a period of time when dreams just started appering, and every few seconds or so i had to regain my focus. Long story short, i felt the vibrations and wondered how the heck i am supposed to get out. Tried floating, just enhanced the vibrations. Tried rolling, that failed miserably. I understand that you have to mentally move, right? So then i thought about being in afghanistan with the troops, and boom! It was just indescribable! You guys are so lucky. And so, i know i partially separated, but i couldn't see anything. I just end up partially opening my eyes, and i don't think that was supposed to happen. So after a few moments, i felt back in myself again. Right there and then, my brother (we sleep in bunk beds) asked me for one of my flashlights (i am member at candlepowerforums, bright flashlights) i said okay and asked why. He responded that he thinks i sot of succeded in astral projecting, because he saw a shadow of a person slowly forming on the bass cabs (big amplifiers as tall as me) that were slowly taking shape and detail and hand position just like mine! He said it started to get closer and more defined! Never seen anything like it according to him! Then he closed his eyes for a few moments, and he was terrified! Mind you, this guy is brave as nails! Then thats when he asked for my light. I had two armytek predators, but didn't trust him with unprotected 18650 li-ons (several batteries have exploded to other members at cpf, so i gave him my fenix tk20. ( anyone here a cpf member?) so aferwards that shadow never appaered. So my main questin, how to you guys see? Thanks in advance

I see with my eyes.. lol. Welcome to the pulse. When you are in the realm you just, see like as if you are now. I don't think anybody is as into flashlights as you are.. Congratz nonetheless.

 When I am in having trouble seeing in the astral I say "Clarity Now" and then the vision immediately become clearer, since in the Astral thought equals action. I read the clarity now thing in Robert Bruce's books. Works like a charm!
