So I tried the timer method

I saw the timer method http://www.lucidology.com/blog/91/lucid-dream-timer-method posted in another thread and decided to try it this morning. I haven't had a good OBE in weeks. I keep fall asleep or nothing happens. I was hesistant to try the timer method because I was afraid it would just cause insomnia and again nothing would happen. I'm happy to report that it worked very well and I was able to have multiple OBEs within an hour or so time frame. I was very tired and stressed from work so I ended up falling into dreams alot during my experience this morning but I'm encouraged that this method worked and can't wait to try it again when I've had more sleep. I used my iPhone as the timer. I setup multiple alarms for the different intervals and turned the snooze setting off for each of them so the alarm would be quiet with just one tap to the volume down button on the side of the phone. I put my headphones in and chilled to some binaural beats (also an iPhone app) for about 30 mins prior to the first alarm going off. I hope this helps someone else like it helped me.

Nice work :D

I've tried using the alarm on my iPad but my brother is a very light sleeper, and if I try it with the headphones in they usually fall out  :|

But anyways, good job on the progress! :)

Thanks! Maybe it's time for new headphones?  My husband snores so I've thought about upgrading to noise canceling headphones but for now I'm getting by with my cheap ones.

Just tried this method after reading this post, and have to say it worked amazingly well. Been in a dry spell for a while so I was delighted with this  :-)
I set up the alarms by making an MP3 file, with beeps spaced at intervals the same as the "ramp" which he explains in the lucidology 7 video.
I set the MP3 file to play at 5am and to repeat, and just went to sleep with earbuds in. I didn't stay awake for the 45 minutes he recommends in the video, as I have trouble getting back to sleep, but it worked fine just the same.
The alarms seem to keep you in a free-floating state of consciousness, perfect for OBE's and lucid dreams. Volume is crucial as the alarms have to be loud enough to wake you up.
Gave me two OBE's this morning.

Been thinking of getting some of these:

If anyone's tried them, I'd like to know if they're any good. They have to be better than earphones that fall out, right?

Nickspry--- Those sleep phones look cool! I've been looking at bulky headphones that encase the ear and block noise that way. I worry about the comfort though. I also do not stay awake for the 45 mins it says too before trying to AP.

Question-- What software do you use to make your Mp3? I want to do this too so I can customize a routine for myself and mix it up a little. I'm a computer geek but making mp3s is not something I've done before. I looked at a program called Audacity last night. I thought there might be something for the iPad though.

Thanks!

Yeah they look pretty good don't they? Must get some, but I'm not sure if they're available in the UK
I used Audacity to put the MP3 together. It's the simplest to use and does a great job - plus it's free of course. As for the ipad - can't help you there I'm afraid.
Thanks for putting us onto this method by the way. I've a feeling it's going to become my main technique...

Hey guys. I have some sleepphones. They are very comfortable. I can sleep all night with them on.
The only down side is the strength of the cable. I have had to re-solder a new thinker replacement cable on because after a couple of months there were a few little niks in the original cable.

I know some people who are on their 4th pair! They are awesome but for 40 quid I  spent the time and repaired mine. I think they will last quite a long time now.

I'm in the UK and got mine off Amazon.
No Fear. Only Love.

Hi,
If you have an android phone you could look for an ap. There's lots and some are free. I tried eden beats and it is very good for fixed tones with noise if required.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Thanks for the info. Is the sound quality ok?

Its not the best but it does the job. Even though they broke I still think they are awesome and use them every night.
