Hello~~ I've been interested in astral projection for a long time now, but I've never been able to get out of my body. I feel like I'm very close now, but I'm still having troubles.
I really got into astral projection about 5 years ago or so, after reading a book (fictional) about it. I started looking it up on the internet, and learned alot! I accidentally had my first experience when I woke up early one morning, walked around for a bit, and then went back to sleep. When I fell asleep, I had some intense vibrations, and I felt my left arm go straight up in the air. Ever since that, I've had all sorts of experiences, but I've never been able to leave my body.
Basically, I can't really induce the vibrations myself - which I mean, while I'm awake. The only way I can ever achieve this state is if I've had a nap earlier in the day, and then, go to bed later. While I'm drifting off to sleep, suddenly, SNAP! I get intense vibrations. I try really hard to keep them going by either focusing on my third eye (I read somewhere that this helps) or sometimes ask for help. I usually try to move or roll and force my way out, but it never works - the vibrations always die down. Last night, I managed to get into this state again, and I just lay there, repeating "Stronger, Faster" and it really helped!! The vibrations intensified!! But, still, I went no where... I just kept drifting in and out of these vibrations.
Sometimes I feel like I need to take a breath of air, and when I do, the vibrations die. I'm not really afraid anymore, because I'm used to these sensations... but maybe I'm too excited? I have no idea...
Anyways... I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to help me exit my body~ Should I lie there, or should I try moving my way out? Anything you can contribute would be awesome ^__^;
Thanks alot~~~
I find if I concentrate or think too much about actually trying to get out, it does more to hinder than to help.... so it may be the excitement that is stopping your vibrations. If you can, (and I know it's hard...) but try to not even think about an OBE at all, and just focus on the vibrations themselves, with the intent of just seeing where they take you. You may not project every time... but you may find yourself in other altered states and/or fall asleep into a lucid dream. It's how I got over the excitement factor though.... and was able to cause more OBEs to happen. Alternately you can just find something else to focus on during the vibrations... pick something to visualize (not OBE related).
Hope this helps...
