Hello everybody and thank you for visiting my post :)

I have been trying to succeed in astral projection for past 4 years. When first heard about it from my long known friend, i have been sceptical, but later on I somahow managed to believe in it and try to experience it myself, but yet no success :(

I have tried many ways and techniques but thats not why im making this thread.
But before I actually say the problem, I think I should tell my "experiences" and techniques I done so far.
Ive read and heard many of techniques and ive tried most of them, the simple ones that you try to tell yourself that your phisical body is heavy and your astral body is weightless while keeping your conciousness to stay awake, tried meditation while building up in chakras and it was hard to manage to do it but i didnt gone very far with it, I also tried to change simple things before trying to astral project such as trying to do it at night or doing at morning or at the middle of the day, but ive heard best method is to do it in early morning. I tried doing it while sitting, laying down or simply being in bed before going to sleep. But as far as i do it i cannot manage to get past vibration state just cause i start to freak out and lose my conciousness not because im afraid or something but because i get very excited about it when vibration state is happening, but i think one day i might be able to control muself more further not to get so excited about it.

But the real problem has accured in the past couple days i have tried to astral project.
I have free week from work and I had planned my goal that finally this week i will be alone at home and i will have free time to finally succeed in astral projection.
And last few days as i try to astral project i do relax, i have no plans or nothing, no stress on me, but when i actually get relaxed and when im conciouss my body gets into as i call "sleep paralysis" when in this place usually vibration state accurs, but latelly i dont get that state and i have no idea why.
Yesterday was the day when i have lost my faith, i started by waking up in the morning, it was 9 in the morning i think, i went to wash my face with some cold water and went to bet again, but with will to try astral projection and i was conciouss while my body went into deep sleep paralysis and then simply nothing happened, simply i was trapped being conciouss but could not move, there was no vibration state or something and i kept tryig to do something for i guess about three hours when i finally gave up and start to lose my conciousness by driftig my mind into imaginery things and fell asleep. It felt like i was inprisoned in my own mind and could not do nothing except lose my contiouss and fell asleep.

And after yesterdays experience i seek for help in this forum, willing for someone to help me give me tips or maybe someone has experienced same problems and let me uear how you have solved them.

Thanks for everyone that will be willing to response, since my week off is going to the end and i really need some help :(

First off, you may or may not get vibrations.  Try for sounds, 'seeing through the eyelids', hypnagogics, for exit cues.  Next, if you get paralyzed, what do you do next?  Most of the time you have to make the exit happen.  Are you trying a variety of exit techniques?
What happens if you try and doesn't work?  What do you do next?

By saying i may or may not get vibrations, do you mean someone can enter astral without having vibrational state?
And i have tried sounds but it didnt helped much for me since with or without them i could not pass vibration state but thanks for suggesting the one you wrote ill try it tonight.
As im in paralyzed sate i actually was waiting for the vibrational state to come since i have read that you should not force yourself to get out of your body but instead just let t hapen after you pass the vibrational state. And about this one, could you give me some suggestions on making the exit as you said :)
When i paralyzed and try to do something different and it doesnt work i usually simply give up and lose my consiouss and fall asleep, what would you suggest me to do after you fail to astral project?
Is it good to try doing it again just after youve failed lets say you been to vibrational state but freaked out.

Thank you very much :) Hope you will answer these questions and im going to try sound technique that youve suggested :)

Yes.  Most projectors eventually learn to project without vibrations, I don't know many that have been doing it for years and years (consciously) and don't eventually stop getting them.  A few, not many.

Sounds are an indication you are close- they can lead you to the part in that you keep your attention very focused.  I'm not sure how you equate 'passing the vibrational state' if you're not getting vibrations.

This forum has a techniques section, there are many- a few would be the rope technique, the waterski technique, surfing, floating, 'body of light' (which I don't do but some swear by) and focusing on pictures or landscapes (phasing) when you get them.

Go back to trance, do some energy body loosening and then try another exit.  If you completely give up, get up and walk around.  What you don't want to do is roll over and go to sleep- that is backwards training.

It's ok to do it, but you can continue to try up to half an hour- more than that is exhausting.

It's not a technique, it's simply listening for sounds.  They can start out as hissing, banging, or popping, and can resolve to voices or sounds of walking and talking.... it can be a bit freaky but it shows you are 'tuned into' the nonphysical (or in the hypnagogic state) and ready for an exit.

As for 'doing nothing and letting it happen'- this only works if you have not projected for a long time or ever- and is probably a result of something else entirely.  I've been projecting for more than forty years spontaneously and it only happened around six times a year- when you learn to consciously and deliberately project you usually have to make the exit happen- by will or technique- but just laying there and waiting just trains you to go to sleep.

Hello.  I thought I would just confirm what CFTraveler said about the vibrational state.  For me, I generally don't go thru the vibrational state, or at least not for very long.  I tend to think that experienced people don't feel the vibrational state or briefly do because they are familiar with the situation and move through it quickly.  I think its a little like initially standing before a door and just staring at it in awe initially and then meandering through it.  After a while, you just walk through without focusing on the door, but on what is beyond the door.  While its a good analogy, I think its also a bad analogy because I think the "door" concept perhaps is too suggestive that it is similar to a door to somewhere.  May be some similarities, but I am wary about making simplied analogies.  Anyway, I also wanted to add that if you are in the so called paralyzed state, you might be much closer than you realize.  Often, in that state, you can just consciously try to lean forward, and you might find that you don't sit up in your bed, but find yourself leaning forward into a nice dreamland setting (i.e., feeling as if you just separated from your body).  Anyway, I tend to suggest to just try leaning forward or rolling over in that state.  If you are awake, you will perhaps sit up; then, you can lay down and try again.  If not, you will perhaps start your first so called AP.
