I think I astral projected from a lucid dream!?

Lucid dream

I am upstairs in my house and I suddenly remember to do a reality check so I count my fingers. At first there are 5 fingers, I count again and there are 6. I then try once more and there are 6 fingers, so realizing I am in a dream I jump mid-way from the stairs down to the ground floor. I open the front door and I walk out onto the driveway.
It is night time and the moon hazily glimmers in its nocturnal light. I walk outside in my bare feet, the chilling winds blow against my body. I shout out a name of someone (that I don't personally know) but that has recently passed away, in efforts to summon him but no-one answers. I then attempt to fly but with no success, and I disappointingly fall back onto the tarmac road. So I decided to try something else: I attempt to teleport by visualizing a specific location and very soon I feel myself losing control of the lucid dream, as if I'm gradually becoming unconscious. Bizarrely whilst this is occuring I am aware that another body (I assume my astral body) is out of place and floating in the air, attached only to my dream body's head whilst my dream body lays on the floor in its horizontal position. Seizing this opportunity I quickly try to exit via rolling out. This time with success...

Astral projection

So I roll out and the scene repeats itself. I am right back at my house again and I go back downstairs to my front door. Assuming that I am in the astral I try to walk through the door, and which to my amazement I do so with tremendous ease! It has never been so simple: the motion was so fluid that I felt like I was passing through water. So I get out of my house and immediately I recognize a major difference. My movements are now relatively slower, airy and much lighter, unlike any other lucid dreams I've ever had. So I walk a bit further on and I notice a packet of cigarettes on the floor. I try to pick it up whilst assuming it'd just pass through my hands. But no, it doesn't and I am able to pick it up with my hands. Moments later I lose consciousness and I wake up. However there are no vibrations and I don't feel snapped back into my body. I don't remember what happens afterwards but I think I have numerous false awakenings.

So judging from my account does this sound like an astral projection or do you think it's just a high-powered lucid dream? If it was an AP then why didn't I feel myself snapped back into my body? Lastly, and this is quite important to me, why didn't the person I summon respond to my calls? Can you only call upon people you know personally for them to appear? Or could this be down to the fact that he's a new spirit: he passed away 2 days before my dream.

Thank you if you could answer my questions

Interesting story, thanks for sharing! :-) I'm a lil bit of a noob still, but it sounds like you were Astral Projecting, and if you're new to AP, this would make sense.. If you stay out longer than, say, a minute your first few times APing, you will most likely lose all your memory after that. If you are experienced with AP, then maybe it was a lucid dream after all?
If it was AP, this also makes sense because if you lose your memory, you most likely won't feel 'snapped' back into your body.. And honestly, I don't know why the person you summoned didn't come. Sorry!  :-(

Hey Gbob, I think you did it, congratulations!  8-) About your questions; the persons don't always show up when you want to. Or perhaps it was indeed because he died so recently. I know it is possible to meet a deceased person in a lucid dream because it once happened to me. Just try again the next time, and just express the wish and intention that you would like to meet him.

I have had more obe's from lucid dreams and I never feel vibrations, so that's not unusual. And about not snapping back into your body, that doesn't need to happen every time either. Mostly I wake up slowly, I feel it when the obe is about to end. It can be different for every person so don't rely too much other people's experiences. See for yourself what is happening and then when you get more experience in it you will start to recognise the differences between a LD and an OBE and will know for sure.  :-)

All I know is that it definitely felt different to a lucid dream. In my lucid dreams I feel like a human with supernatural powers. But in this particular projection I felt like I was half human half ghost. And as I said walking through a door was a breeze - I usually hurt myself when I run through a door in LD's.

I'm going to add my 3 cents in here and (basically repeat what the others already 'posted) say that it WAS an OBE - an ethereal projection into the real time zone. It appeared that there were only a few minor reality fluctuations. IMO definately an EP and Not a LD.

Wow into the real time zone? Although everything outside did look similar there were hardly/not any cars parked in the driveway (which there usually are). Perhaps this could be another fluctuation.

Why do you think it's definitely not a LD? My reason is because it felt much different to a LD and I felt my movements were much lighter. Also why definitely an 'ethereal projection into the real time zone' and not an astral projection? I don't really know what the difference is :S

I'm so excited now - all this time and I finally manage to project! I'm determined to find that spirit and communicate with him.
