Let me start off by saying that I am NOT new to this topic. I used to do a lot of research on astral projection and tried really hard to do it, but had only minute success. The reason I'm posting this now is because I think I may have achieved it without intending to when I first went to sleep, and I want some confirmation so that I'll be motivated to keep trying. Here's the story:
I went out last night with some friends and got pretty trashed. Came home this morning after only a couple of hours of sleep and basically passed out on the couch. I woke up for some reason and tried to go back to sleep. When I was really close to falling asleep I started hearing this LOUD roaring noise. It was literally all I could hear. Sounded like my house was getting hit by a tornado and an earthquake at the same time. I read about " vibrations" when I was doing research on astral projection, so I immediately realized that I might be onto something. I tried to make the noise louder if that makes sense. Once I felt it was loud enough I tried to slowly get up but not move? I'm not sure how I was doing that. But anyways, eventually I opened my eyes and I was standing up. I looked back to look at where I was laying to see if my body was still on the couch and it was, so I thought, "sweet, I'm out of my body" I went over to the bedroom and then the bathroom and looked in the mirror and there i was, wearing the same clothes and everything. On my way back out of the bathroom I decided to try and hover. And I did. And then I went out into my balcony and launched off into the distance (I live 17 stories up) and then I opened my eyes and it was over.
I want to believe this is an OBE but there are a couple of discrepancies in what I saw while I was "astral"
1. My house looked organized. Its not. I even saw some nail clippers on the dresser in the bedroom and took a mental note of it. When I went to go look after I woke up, they weren't there.
2. I was wearing the same clothes when I looked in the mirror, but when I looked back at my body, my legs were exposed, I'm wearing jeans.
What do you guys think? Dream? Or OBE?

Congrats  :-D

I didn't experience what you did but from what you said it sounds like you did. Remember that in the RTZ (real time zone) you are borderlining the physical copy of this world and the NPR (non physical reality) Things tend to manifest instantly, (for me anyway) subconsciously even. Furniture can appear in different places, some furniture may be missing, You will see things that may have been there in the past that aren't necessarily there now, you might even see things in the future. Who knows maybe you will go in the bathroom and there will be nail clippers sitting there just like in your OBE you had a week from now. It's your experience! I personally struggle with going out of body and then going into dream land after. Things will get sluggish or slow. It's all about memory recall. Start a dream journal. Tell yourself everynight before you go to sleep to remember your OBE's. Remember you astral project everynight. You just don't remember it.  :-)

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse.
Wow, there has been a great deal of success stories here this week. I am glad to see people achieving their goals.
Sometimes when we try to learn this skill/art, we put too much pressure on ourselves to succeed. Once we let go, we start having spontaneous adventures. Almost like it is now the NPR that beckons us and doesn't wish to let go.
I would say you had a successful Non Physical Reality experience. That's the only important deduction needed here.

Congratulations and here's to many more!  :-)
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
Id say as the above posts do. Your experience is typical too.
Keep at it without pressuring for results. You may find things easier next time.
Well done.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Hey, Welcome to the site.   :-)

Neat experience.  I've never consciously gone out of body, but every time I have seen anything in the real time zone (typically during false awakening type situations,) my home has never looked the same as it's physical counterpart either.  It seems to go to one extreme or the other in my case.  I've seen places I've lived look suddenly super tidy and impossibly organized.  In other cases though, I've seen a house I was in appear completely totaled.  Things all over the floor, furniture tipped over, boxes of junk in the middle of the room, etc.

Congratulations on your experience and welcome! Speaking from my experiences and what I have read of others, don't be discouraged or discredit yourself is things didn't look the same. It's all about the experience itself and I certainly hope it has encouraged you to explore more. Just let it happen. And the noise thing? Once I suddenly noticed it and was so shocked that I nearly jumped out of bed, haha! Sounds successful to me! :D
