Title: I've experienced a strange and amusing feeling while sleeping. Is this an OBE?
Post by: michelledm12345 on November 02, 2013, 10:51:00
Hello all. First off, this is the first topic that I've ever posted on here, so I'll also mention a bit about me. My name is Michelle, I'm 16, and I've always been very much curious of how an OBE works. I've tried several times, but I've never managed to do it, until this one morning when I was least expecting it...

This happened around 5 days ago, I haven't even thought of OBE for a couple months, but then, I woke up one afternoon (I always sleep late, and therefore, I always wake up late as well), and my aunt came in my room. We chatted for a bit about current events, and right after she left, I turned all of the lights off again. I was feeling very tired  so I must have fallen asleep without intending to do it.

I fell asleep, I was on my left side, my right arm around a pillow, when I remember a male voice talking to me, he was telling me information about how he died, and I remember not talking to him. He was telling me things that I felt was completely unnecessary to me so in that "dream", I was ignoring him. Also, it seemed like I was concentrating on something, something that I didn't know of... After a while, I heard him telling me that he wants to actually show me how he died and I said ok. I suddenly felt my whole body vibrating, kinda like how a phone vibrates, and there are times when the vibration gets weak, and sometimes very strong. It lasted for about 30 seconds, when I suddenly felt like I was falling into a very deep well, everything was dark, and then shifting to pure white surroundings. I then felt like floating, and when I "opened" my eyes (I wasn't really opening my eyes, that was just what I thought I was doing in the dream, and it felt strange), I was floating inside my bedroom. I was literally inches away from my ceiling, and I felt excited. I looked around, and it was actually my room. Then, I remembered the man that was talking to me, I got really scared cause he told me about how he was going to show me how he died, so I felt myself laying on the bed again, at the exact same position of when I fell asleep, and then I couldn't move anything. I tried getting up, but I couldn't. I didn't panic, I just let it be, and then slowly trying to move my fingers and tapping it on the pillow. I then woke, still trying to get my eyes open, but it took a huge amount of effort to finally being able to open them. I woke up feeling great, I wanted to do it again, so I tried sleeping but I couldn't find myself doing anything.

Could this be an OBE? I'd really want to do it again and experience "that" longer. Any tips on actually doing it?

Oh, and I'm sorry if I've messed up some of my grammar/words...

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse, Michelle!  :-)

Yes, this sounds like a successful OBE/NPR (Non Physical Reality/Realm) visit. It seems like your new "friend" (whom could be a Guide, per say) helped you greatly here.

Usually people's first "visits" are very short. This is perfectly normal, because you are enjoying what you are seeing, then your rational mind kicks in and thinks about your body and "bam" you are right back in your body again.
To overcome this, you need to learn to ground yourself there. Grounding yourself is done by activating your Astral senses. You do this by touching things you see, trying to hear any sounds that are there, etc. Basically you want to do anything that involves you further in your new location. Many people also say to get at least 10 feet away from your physical body.

You are doing great though. Here's to many more!  :-)

Thank you so much, Lionheart. I will definitely go on and roam around the Astral world some more if I get the chance to do it again (hopefully), and I'm going to be trying very hard to do it again.

About this "friend", is there a possibility that he can be... dangerous? I'm not very familiar with friends and guides, so it would be great to get some information on them.

Only if you think he is!

You are in a place where thought = action. So see him as a friend and he will be!  :-)
