I've been reading about OBEs for more than a month when I discovered them 2 months ago. I've been trying and trying and can't get an OBE!!!! Closest i've gotten to is when I had a lucid dream and tried to OBE.. I felt my soul was being seperated from my physical body but then I stopped because it was dark and I wanted my first OBE to be in the light -.- When I try to OBE regularly my body sometimes itches in random places and other time my body gets relaxed and nothing happens. I really wanna have an OBE because i've been trying for more than a month.

I also get no pre-projection signs :-( No vibrations, no buzzing sounds, no nothing. My body just gets super relaxed and then I get so tired of laying in the same position that I turn around and just fall asleep.

Trust me.....I am right with you.

I have been trying about a month and nothing special.  On vibration state that I awoke to from a dream.
This may sound corny...but I just got done watching Kungfu Panda.  And I realized that I was trying to hard or trying to find a certain method or secret I didnt know.  But now I know there is no secret method.  I have to fix my practices to myself and my life.  It might take me a while to figure out the best way for me to have an OBE, but it will be worth the wait.

Besides, you are only what 15....I have 11 years on you.  So you have plenty of time to practice.

You don't need vibrations. Lately, when trying to have my first OBE as well, I also get super relaxed and now the newest experience is single body party drifting out of my body. I did hear buzzing sounds a few times, but only for a few seconds. I also had vibrations, but they weren't that strong. You have to relax your body even more, then you will keep your motivation a bit. If you relax even further, you will reach a very interesting state of mind which feels weird as your body is cold, you don't feel it anymore.. rather, you feel that it's more like a cage or something like that. Just keep on working. You should also concentrate on what you currently feel, this helps me relax even further. You shouldn't think much or get annoyed, you should just try it and if it doesn't work, try it again and again.

I've been practicing this since late 05' I believe. I've had a lot of success in this time but its mainly from already dreaming state, sometimes I wake in NREM paralyzed and able to project from that..up until the beginning of this month. I never really went from a physically awake state straight into a conscious projection. But now Im able to do so because I believe I over complicated it. It was my assumption that the body had to be completely asleep...etc before one could project but I realized that is not true at all.

On November 6th this year I went from a completely physically awake state, to a obe in under 2 minutes up until it happened I was physically moving my various limbs. Then the vibrations kicked in slowly at first then more frequent, before I knew it I was seeing through my closed eyelids which only lasted a few seconds. Then as Im looking at nothing but darkness and a little light (through my eyelids) I felt as though I was floating up and over, then back down... I noted how odd this felt and I started to feel really weird, like sick, sort of submerged in water. (note I was laying on my living room couch). I decided I should get up and get a drink of water. So I stood up and opened my eyes, I noticed I was looking at my living room carpet, which wasnt right.

I thought somehow I fell off my couch without noticing. So I walked back over to my couch only to realize I was still laying on my couch! I looked on in amazement as I realized I wasnt in my physical body at this point and my physical body was all tranced out on my couch. I did a few things like went into my bedroom look at my wife and child sleeping. Walked around and checked to see what the differences were between the physical and non physical experience. I checked to see if I was able to read things which I could no problem at all. Looked at my body one more time then decided to sit up and write about it.  After that experience I realized all this time I was making things a lot more difficult than they really were.

The vibrations were not as strong as I had them before, at one time I had the vibrations so strong that I thought my body would be shaken apart. This time though the vibrations were present and frequent but very week and mainly only felt in my head and parts of my back thats it, yet I got out no problem and by accident. It was so easy that I told myself I could do it again no problem, only about 8 days later (14th) I did it again no problem. The first experience felt like it only only about 4 minutes long or so, and the time actually matched the percieved time. The second experience I stayed out as long as I could and started to feel as though I was about to fall asleep or pass out in the experience after 8 minutes.

Once again the perceived time matched the real time, and it was just as easy as it was the first time. What I did was sleep about 6 hours at night woke up around 10 am or so, then at noon of a little after noon I would lay down on my couch. It might work so easy for me because after 6 hours Im too awake to fall back asleep, but tired just enough to be able to lay down and relax enough. So I would say give that a try. It works everytime like magic for me, I just wish that I did that a long time ago. All my other experiences I achieved through a lucid dream because Ld's come very easy to me, but now I realize it is much easier than I once thought it was. During both experiences I did not lay completely still was able to move around but when the vibrations kicked in I made an effort to not move. Good luck!
