Welcome Mohamed. I too look forward to hearing of your progress....I'm also curious to hear how friends and family in the Muslim community embrace things like OOBE's and astral projection. Are they going to be receptive of it?
Thanks for the nice post, Mohamed, and welcome. There are a lot of nice people here and a great deal posts to read. I'd just point out that there are topics that are made "sticky" because they have a recurring value. Take a look at the OBE one by Tisha, or some of the "sticky" topics in the Astral Consciousness forum by Frank and Adrian for a wealth of information. There are other "sticky" topics around, and they are a good place to start.
Also, we have a nice search engine and a File Library at the top of the page that may come in handy for you. Looking forward to hearing more from you. [:)]
Very best,

Hi Jeff,
Actually i want to answer your question myself. Because I am a Muslim, too. I actually started to wander about AP and OBE when i was reading Our Holy Book Quran. I dont want to get in a religous conversation over here. But In the book i have found a few clues about the astral cord, having an astral body... The book also says clearly that everybody is projecting when they sleep at night.
But as i said i dont want a religious discussion over here. So i just mentioned these in order to answer your question and exchange knowledge.

.
That's kind-of intresting though...

Birm.....thanks for the response. You know, one could argue (and rightly so) that the Bible also contains these same references for astral traveling. And yet, a majority of the church world still considers OBE's as an ungodly thing. I just didn't know if Muslims felt the same way. For instance, even though you see references in the Quran to support your astral views, I wonder if other Muslims use the Quran to teach AGAINST them.....must like people do with the Bible.
Well Jeff,
As i said before i dont want to discuss my beliefs here. I am here to exchange knowledge about OBE's.
But i can tell you about a few things:
Muslim people believe in Jesus, Moses and all the other prophets. Our book says that Quran is the continuation of the other books. Quran warns as about the judgement day. On that day the sun will rise from west instead of east. (The world spins counterclock wise, that may change and the world may spin clockwise. It can be that something may hit the earth. This also can be found in quran.)

What happens to bible happens everywhere. Religion is being used to control the people everywhere on earth. But in the book you may find very different things. Also dont ever forget that you are reading a translation of the book. So you have to trust the translator. If you search long enough you will find the truth though. I read all the four holy books several times.

I admit that I dont want to post about this subject again.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all for the warm welcomes! Sorry for the delay, but College just started again. I am pleased to see that there are other Muslims on this board; I am usually the only Muslim on most boards I join.
Jeff_Mash: My friends actually think it's a good idea and want to try it out (My really close friends, I can't imagine telling others about OOBE, they would think I am crazy). My family really doesn't care much, except for my Father; he thinks I am crazy to want to have a "Kaboos (OOBE)."
Nick: Thanks for the intro to the forums; I did not know about the File Library. I will check it out as soon as I send this reply.

Hello everybody,
My name is Mohamed as you can see by my user name. I am a Muslim and in my Religion it is believed that Mankind has the ability to do anything except create life which makes me a firm believer in OOBEs. I knew about OOBEs for a long time, but it wasn't until two weeks ago that I really became interested about the subject.
In the Arabic Culture, we have known about these experiances for a long time, but it has never been classified as anything better than a really bad nightmare (This experiance is called KaBoos in Arabic). This is because with natural experiances, which almost everybody has, you usually wake up paralized, which is why they consider it a bad nightmare. My veiw point of it is that if we all have these experiances, than why not beable to control it, rather than it being a random event.
During the past two weeks I have progressed steadily, at a pace that I am comfortable with. I am proud to say that I have achieved deep states of Focus 10 (mind awake/body asleep). I have also achieved Lucidity in my dreams twice. Last night I believe I came closest to an Astral Projection (not OOBE). My body became heavy and my heart seemed to be beating much faster than usual (Robert Bruce points out that this is the heart chakra and not the actual heart), but that is as far as I got it. Hopefully soon I will project into the astral realm, and I really hope that soon after that I will project into the Real Time Zone.
Thanks for reading and hopefully I will learn much from my time here in the Astral Pulse.
