Slipping in and out of lucidity and control

Bluebird

I had my third Lucid dream last night. When I realized I was lucid I immediately started to look at textures on walls. I felt like that helped focus me. Then I would try and do things.
Trying to fly, I would just slowly lift up. Or I could jump from a building and come down gently but I could not control it fully.
I have no control over my environment.
Then something strange, I seemed to slip out of lucidity, and within the dream, I was trying to get back into lucidity, with onlookers commenting on what I was trying to do!

I'm excited because I feel like this is the beginning of things for me. I read what Lumaza said in the Tom Campbell thread:

QuoteFirst there was the my 3 night experience back in 2011. That created the curiosity to learn more. Then came Phasing, then came me becoming aware of my Dreams, then came me becoming lucid in those Dreams and learning how to navigate those areas. Next came awakening in full SP and spontaneously exiting the body.

Guess everyone walks they're own path with this stuff and for me it seems lucid dreaming is the beginning.

Anyhow, is there some techniques for more control other than just staring at walls? A direction I can go in?

Excellent Bluebird.  :-) You are learning how to ground yourself and navigate in these new realms. You should be excited. When  just beginning, most people will just notice they are Lucid. Then their excitement immediately ends their travels or adventure. But we see the same things with people when they first notice they are out of body or when they have their first conscious AP due to Phasing. It normally takes a while before they can control their emotions enough to learn how to either passively observe or as you have done "ground" yourself to the scenario at hand. You are doing great. Keep doing what you are doing!

My 2011 3 night adventures involved night terrors, SP and LDs. I kind of got bombarded by a bit of everything during those episodes. But they didn't become regular events right away. That's where the "progression" that I was speaking about comes in.

You are right though. Each one of does "walk our own path".

You can practice being non physical on a daily basis. This helps you to learn control when you finally find yourself "there".

Here's some links that will help you with that. Mind you, these are my own way, like you said above, "we walk our own paths". So, you can use these as guidelines, but try to "tweak" them or find a way that you are comfortable with yourself.

In the "Doorway" thread there are more links to some great daily NP practices you can do.

Good luck!  :-)
