Title: Is this true?
Post by: sercetu on June 05, 2012, 19:42:45
I was reading and listening the teachings of E. J. Gold
He claim is an experienced astral traveler.

Please, watch this short video where he says that in the
afterlife there is no mind.

Is that truth? When we are out of boby only have the body of habits
but no mind?

Good call desert. Yeah, a rule of thumb is to be uber skeptical of anyone selling anything.

When you enter the product selling/evangelist-stage of astral projection, by nature, you opinions must become rigid and differentiated from many other 'evangelists' in order to create a market. Things naturally could become skewed if its your opinion that has to put food on the table. Or worse, one could say something edgy just to get attention and then attempt to justify it. All of this has already happened in other cases.

To answer your question, depending how you define 'mind' which is already pretty esoteric, the statement could go so many different ways.

IMO I don't like it. because I would say the lower levels of the astral occur in the information actually stored in your mind.

Your best bet is to try and read everything you can but base your true philosophy on what you personally experienced.

Trust, but verify.

Cheers,

Even tho all I have done is read a bunch of books on a.p. I could make you tube videos and sell p.d.f.s .  I think its best to keep an open mind , and read through the free stuff on the net . This is a peice of reglious propaganda , but its fun to watch (its pure b.s.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTxheZlvZNU#              desert rat

sercetu, I watched the video and didn't really understand it. It does seem like an advert for some type of course the guy is running.

Personally I disagree with what he is saying. My opinion is based on my own experiences and those of others, posted many many times in forums, websites and on YouTube. Watch some of the youtube vids on NDEs. You will see that people do describe the continuation of consciousness and personal identity. However, when people merge with the Light, there may be loss of personal identity, but I think this is a personal decision.

In actual fact, in absolute stark contrast to what this guy is saying, I have seen accounts where people said that the ONLY thing which existed was their mind and personal identity.  They had complete amnesia regarding their physical lives. So in fact they lost ALL their habits. This is the exact opposite of what the guy is saying! Take this video with a huge pinch of salt.

Do watch youtube vids of people recounting personal experiences, they are great because you can get a great feel for whether or not the person is sincere. My feeling for E. J. Gold - not sincere.

Now one of my favorite quotes:

"what even the humblest of men affirm from their own experience, is always worth listening to, but what even the cleverest of men, in their ignorance, deny is never worth a moment's attention" - Sir William Barrett
