Well about 4 days ago i attempted (once again) to A.P. for the first time... but this time i actually reached it, it felt very dream like so it could have been a Lucid dream. But anyway i was in for about 2 mins, and i was so excited, but then i started to hear noises that resembled chimes. At first it sounded pleasant but then it quickly grew loud and i mean LOUD and VOILENT. it was very disturbing. i panic'd and i guess i went back to my body and my head was still ringing and it hurt physically. Anyone have any Experiances like this or have any advice??

Do you have any fear of projecting, any afterthoughts, or do you think your subconsciousness is fearful in any way?

i tend to panic when my subconcsious takes over... like when it starts swallowing for me. and i tend to panic when i start feeling vibrations, my breathing gets real heavy and i have no reason why.?   If any of this helps, i didnt use one the traditional ways of getting out (etc. rope method, melting butter....) i kind of just told my self i was going to A.P. and right before i fell to sleep i felt somone blow into my ear (no one was home) and i felt myself fall and in a split second i was waking up in a bright room????

My experiences aren't overly similar, but when I've been practicing, I tend to breathe quite heavily and there are some points when I even stop breathing, which, of course, starts to hurt after a while. It's really when I use the Rope Technique that this happens - my body starts to shake, I tingle, and my breathing becomes difficult. Ironically, the Rope Technique is probably the one I've had the most success in - it's the one I feel I've made the most progress with - it's just that as soon as the shaking, tingling, and difficulty breathing starts, I can carry on for a while, but then I can't go on. It's annoying.

My opinion is that all of these noises are your subconsciousness scaring you back into your body.

Halfbreed

Anyway to counter act this????

Well, you MUST understand that there is no way to be harmed during an OBE, and right now say that to your subconsciousness three times, and before you project say it again.

ok thanks... i think i might be getting freakout from all the other sounds i hear, should i get some earbuds or something??

bounda

the noises are created by your subconsciousness so earplugs wont do anything

Halfbreed

hmm, ok ill try telling myself that i cant be hurt when i try tonight. Thanks for the help!
