To relax I recommend Chamomile.

For AP what you are thinking of is Mugwort:

I have never tried it, so I can't say personally if it works or not.

Chamomille is very good but it cannot be taken on a regular basis as it may have side effect. It has to be taken occasionally. Insteady you want to use more than one herb for you thea, by switching everyday to something else. Here is a list of some of the herbs that are relaxing, soothing, sedative:

- Linden leaves (leaves of the tree Linden - tilla - tilleul)
- Chamomille
- Valerian (it is a strong sedative, will induce sleep)
- St John wort
- Lemon Vervena (not to be taken on a daily basis, as it can cause infection of the urinary system - all the tubes there! ).
- Lemon Balm (very tasty).
- Catnip, Catmint (not so tasty, an aphrodisiac for cats)
- Basil (calm acidity in the stomach, and relax too).
- Mugwort is Artemisia Vulgaris, is good in a sleep pillow with Rosemary (both of these herbs can improve memory to remember dreams).
- Hops.

Do not use Mint, as mint is a tonic and will not relax you.
And of course cut on coffee, thea (regular thea), coca-cola (it contains cafeine), red meat, and havy meals.

You are so right Shaman.  Of all the legal drugs, I think caffiene is the worst!  Cheap and widely available, I can feel the effects after drinking a coke for three days.

I do occasionally drink it, because everything has it's use - but very rarely, and very sparingly.

ALso, I rarely use Chamomile.  Sometimes, I wake in the middle of the night.  When this happens, I do not try to go back to sleep, but will get up, read a book, and have some tea.

Thank yuo for the rest of the info.

BOATS

I use to drink Ginger tee in Africa alot. Its very popular there. It's a very good seditive. I also find a large amount of Mustard before sleep will increase dreams.

holy reality

melatonin might help (taken at night) since it's supposed to be what the body releases to put you to sleep

personally i have taken around 6+ things of it at once though and not really noticed any effects... i'm not sure if tolerance is built but if i only use it once in a blue moon a normal dose sometimes seems to work

it might just be a placebo effect though.

Where can the drinkable kava kava be bought? A pharmacy?
!..............!

You can by kava kava off the internet or local smoke shop and make your own drink, or by pills at the local GNC. Thanks for your time guys.

Kava Kava is a muscle relaxant. It is contraindicated for pregnancy, nursing mothers, endogenous depression, prolonged use for more than 3 months and operating a motor vehicle following exessive use. Has anyone tried Skullcap or Passion Flower. Dosage is important so make sure you do your research. If you are looking towards the herb world to help with your "ABE" Astral Body Experience, I would recommend something more subtle like essential oils. Get a diffuser(tea candle heated) and put distilled water into it then some carrier oil like Jojoba oil. Adding ofcourse your main oils like Mugwort or Mullein is also traditionally used for astral travels. Infact, the original symbol of a witch was of her on a mullein stock not a broom.

If you are worried about a herb being toxic to the liver perhaps you should read about Milk Thistle. This herb can help clean out the liver.

hope this help alittle...

I've tried passion flower, you can easily find that as a herbal tea. SOmetimes it comes mixed with chamomille and others. It is good to relax. Of course one has to experiment and try different herb theas for a period of a week or so to see if there is any difference. In the family of the mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris) one can try the tarragon (french tarragon, or estragon) another specy of Artemisia. It is a relaxing herb in theas and has been used as a culinary herb in cooking. It is true that mugwort is the one mentioned in many places to help astral travel, you have to burn it or as an incens. But I could not find that one easily. All the other ones can be found in places where you buy flowers, seeds, soil, etc... in Home Depot, even Target, etc... It is easy to grow from seeds, but it takes months to have a plant big enough to make a thea... Especially when they recommand to take several cups of thea in the evening to feel the effect of the herb.

I think definitely Rosemary as a herb thea or as a culinary herb help the memory (of dreams). I am still experimenting on myself all these herbs and others to see. It seems to work, but they are not very strong.

Hi I've been trying to astral project for about a week now and have had minimal success, mostly I think im not relaxed enough. So I was wandering if anyone knows if using kava kava could induce the kind of relaxation one would want to have a projection. Thanks
