Hi there Rodentmouse !

I too have had a couple of these strange episodes ! typically I will project into the RTZ, be very happy about it, remember that its a good idea to keep the experience short to avoid forgetting it, then make a re-entry, wake up and write it in my diary.....

....however, THEN I wake up physically, and quickly realise that there is nothing written down to verify "part 2" of the above experience.

Of course the distinction between "dream" and "OBE" is still not clear to many. If you like, they are 2 points on a spectrum of conciousness. During a dream, you are aware of what is happening, but you have no input as such. Its almost as if you are a character in a bizarre play. During an OBE you are COMPLETELY AWARE that you are not "in" your physical body, with the capacity to do whatever you want. On one occasion I realised that the OBE environment was more real than the physical.

Back to the original post:
"is it possible to recreate the exact sensations of astral projecting whilst dreaming?"

yes, but there is a distinct difference between a dream and an OBE, as above. Are you a passive observer during the experience as in a dream ?

5 minutes ago I didn't think I could come up with an explanation - but here goes :
1) The whole experience could have been a dream. Consider your awareness throughout the experience.
2) Is it perhaps possible that we have projected, and re-entered, but then failed to wake physically ? Instead we have "slipped" into a dreamscape which is filled by our expectations - those of filling in our diaries with the experience ? Perhaps !

cheers,
Mark

Your experience reminded me of a couple quasi-dream-quasi-projection experiences about two years ago. It seems like this was some type of phase where I had to learn to consciously and deliberately separate the OBE from the dream. It was not especially difficult but it did take several months.
Lucidity is the key. When in a lucid dream it is quite easy to induce an OBE. Experience and delibrate conscious desire will do the rest.

I also have had "dreams" of obe's, seem like they closer to lucid dreams rather than the 'real' thing. But with a slight change of awarenes you could find yourself in a full blown obe.
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

hello   good people :D

yesterday morning  i  woke  up  to  the  re-integration process..

i  had  the strange  throbbing  in  my head phenomena and  the buzzing..  and also  some laughter..

i  projected and  investigated  my room  and  the street outside me,  but then  i was sucked into my body...

but as  this  happened..  it  felt  like i  woke  up AGAIN and  when i thought  i  woke  up  before,  i was actually  dreaming that i was  waking  up  to  the   re-integration sequence..  i  even  dreamt  that i got up  and  wrote in  my  dream diary that i just  had an OBE.

when i  *really*  woke  up,  i  realised  how  unconsious i was  during my  pseudo-obe  and  assumed  my  excitement  at the time  must have been the  natural  response i  would  give if  it  were to happen...  my  *real*  mind  was still  unconsious..

but  my  room  looked  real..  so  would  this have  been a  very  accurate  recreation of  my room-  but actually inside my head???

or  as  far as i know..  there  are  different  states of awareness during  an OBE,  maybe   most of my  mind  was still  asleep,  but  a  small fraction  of  waking  awareness  had  manifest.

i see the latter as more logical  because   the  actual  seperation process  was identicle  to  when  i have  had  other  *definatly  real*  OBE's..

is it possible  to  recreate  the  exact sensations  of  astral projecting whilst  dreaming?

has anyone else had  this "dream-an-obe"  dream before??   it  was very  annoying for me when i  woke up...

i  was  proud  of  myself  for keeping  calm  during  the fake obe but  i  realised  maybe "I"  was still fast asleep.
