Title: Lessons in the 3rd dimension....do we need to know OBE's?
Post by: earthrooster on April 16, 2011, 08:39:31
If our existence in this three dimensional world is suppose to be our lessons, is learning OBE's just evolution, if you can call it that?

My opinion is that, no, you don't ever need to learn to project your consciousness.
You're living in this physical reality for a reason... whatever reason that might be, you need to learn/live it here.

That's a big 'If'.  If we're here to learn lessons, anything is part of our evolution.

I see it as all of us being infinite beings wanting to experience limitations since that is not possible in the non-physical, someone may ask, why would anyone want to experience this life full of despair and this and that but that even happens in our society, someone wanting to climb Mt Everest may be called insane by others but it's done by many.  In essence I say we are adventurers wanting to have this experience, some more intense than others.

I don't see it as learning lessons here but more of experiencing, like going to another country you go there to experience the culture, observe the difference from your home, not necessarily to learn lessons.

But lessons may be part of the experience- just one more type of experience possible.

OK, here's the REAL TRUTH. The reason why we exist in the physical is to experience limitation.  Why, you ask? BECAUSE WERE ALL A BUNCH OF MASOCHISTS!!![/sarcasm]

You're not physical having an astral experience, rather an astral having a physical experience. In my opinion you're here in the physical realm for a reason. To learn? To evolve spiritually? Whatever the case.

athletes put on weights jackets to run around with during their training sessions

you could always ask: why do they do that if they could run so much faster without them

I was wondering about this. Being new to all of this, I was wondering, why would any of us want to be here? I like what mcdwg said. I also like what was said about the weights. There just has to be a reason. It sounds silly but I wonder if we got bored with all the freedom and wanted to test ourselves.

part of the lesson is learning to mediate the energies between worlds, the physical and the non-physical.

we are multi-dimensional beings, I think it's natural to want to explore consciousness if so inclined.

Kinda makes ya think though.
What if they taught it in school, like an astral projection course, a mandatory class. Kinda like how every school teaches Math or etc...

It might alter peoples beliefs leading to 1 religion or belief, whatever you wanna call it. Which would lead people of all countries to all believe in the same thing -which would cause some kind of evolution.

This of course would count on what you believe your experiencing during an OBE, like if you thought this astral place was an actual realm or just a figment of your imagination.
For example if your one of those people that believe when your dead-thats it-its all over, and you experience an obe and encountered someone that has passed, they might change their minds in what they believe.

Tee, I think you have a good idea there. What a great school it would be if 75% of the staff did astral projection. wow  :-D

Cheers, djed  :-)

To tell you the truth-
We go to a church that is based on spiritual concepts- and as members of the church my son has been exposed to (besides bible stuff) things like meditation, astral projection/phasing, and other types of metaphysical pursuits, as part of church camp and such activities.
The thing is, that his beliefs are not much different than mine were at his age, and I had a pretty traditional catholic upbringing- in other words, openminded skepticism, with an emphasis of the skepticism part.  In fact, I overheard him talking to a friend of his over the phone, these words "yeah, you should talk to my mom about that- she believes in that stuff".  I still haven't asked what he was talking about, because he'll think I was eavesdropping.  Fourteen, what can I tell you.
What I'm trying to say is that once you institutionalize anything it becomes something a young person is going to rebel against, no matter what- but it's the parent's job to teach/instill/develop a foundation for a worldview to their kids, and not the school's.  God knows they're already wasting time away from academics and arts and music with failed social programs that just give them the impression that the grownups don't have a clue what's really going on- which may be right.

I agree. I have a 15 year old and if there is anything he does, it is rebel against school. He is a complete atheist and, at first, when I started talking about obes and lucid dreams, he said he wasn't sure whether to fall over or call me crazy. Now he has started lucid dreaming, just out of curiosity to see what I was talking about. I think they will only be interested in learning these ideas after they find someone they can trust. School, to some kids, is the enemy, especially to my son. They won't trust their enemy.
