Title: Let's take the astral by storm!!!

Hi Spastral!

With regard to the problems "visualizing", you could use some of Roberts techniques from the NEW system ?

...This has helped me, and a great deal of the people I normally work with in terms of meditating, relaxing, and use their imagination with different guided tours.

It is to get a "feeling" of what it is like to be standing in the corner - i.e. the feeling of the walls behind you, the feeling of the carpet underneath your feet, the sound of your breating coming from you in the chair (!) ... All the sounds, smells, feelings you can think of sort of "reinforce" the image, that it IS you standing in the corner ... instead of getting "stuck" trying to bring an image to mind ? ...

I'm in the same boat, Spencer;  no conscious exit yet.
One thing I've come to assume that differs from what you've posted:
quote:
make sure you have eaten 2-3 hours before you project

I always thought that the fuller you are, the more connected to your physical body you are.  I think it was suggested in the Treatise that eating is one way to close the chakras after stimulating them.  I also seem to recall from that thread on Kundalini, that eating can supress unwanted energy spikes (which I suppose isn't directly related, but probably relates to the same idea).  Also, I've heard of people fasting to prepare for astral travel etc.  Anyway, I've always felt that one of my barriers to projection is the fact that I'm always eating something (practically a disorder).

Hi Jacara,

I think the point is that if you lay down or sit down to project and you are either too full, or absolutely starving, it is a distraction.  When I don't eat, I feel weak and sick, and am unable to concentrate.  If you eat a few hours before you attempt, you give food time to pass through your system, and there is a balance between hunger and contentment

hope this helps!

Spencer

The only time I've had a conscious OBE is thru starvation! I fasted from food and drink all day, and before I laid down to go to bed, I poured a nice tall glass of cold water and left it on the kitchen table.

After going through my preparatory process in bed, I wanted that water so bad, my astral body beat my physical body to it. Of course, I was quite shocked when I figured out I couldn't pick up the glass.

This isn't the recommended means of attaining an OBE however. I'm all over phasing techniques, but just haven't succeeded yet.

Good luck

Dear all,

We all know this site is meant to bring us together in sharing experience and to aid development of people at all levels of spiritual growth like myself who has not yet had a full conscious projection.

I notice there are loads of people who visit here hoping to find that 'magic' technique that will help achieve their goal.  If I have learnt anything, it is that one should not concern themselves with working purely on the technique, but do more  work on preparation.

Can I suggest that we start to put together a definitive guide to help with projection, people would really appreciate this (I know I will!)

Firstly we need to decide if we should first aim for real time projection or astral plane projection. For me, I assume that Real time is easier as I know what I am dealing with, but what do I know!

Second, preparation; what we do to relax and focus

thirdly, trance or state of mind before we apply a technique. try and describe the 'how it's done' and spend less time on experiences once you are there.

Anyway, if people coud do a 3 to 5 step plan on thier favourite method, and lets see how it goes.  I want to put down what I do, it feels like a contradiction as I have not yet projected fully.  However, I have faith that what I am doing is right, so here goes.

1. Real time projection attempt

2. Sit in a comfortable chair, make sure you have eaten 2-3 hours before you project. make sure your room is warm and that the position you are in is not restricting bloodflow and is very comfortable. Spend a few minutes getting into a relaxed state of mind before you relax your pohysical body; Tr to clear your mind of thoughts and start to breath deeply and rythmically (breath in to count of 3, hold for 2, then exhale for 3)

3. RELAX! As I breath in, I imagine a warm glow starting to massage and sooth my body, when I breath out, the tense and stress in my muscles leaves. Start at the feet and work through every set of muscles thoroughly.

Check point - at this point, you should be in a relaxed, focused state of mind, you should be deeply physically relaxed and completely comfortable and warm.

4. After approx 20 mins, you should be ready to rasie energy,  I use my astral hands to draw energy up through my body and charge my chakras, paying particular attention to the heart and brow chakras.  Sometimes I get to a vibrating state at this stage.

5. apply an exit technique - I use a simple method of imagining my astral double in the corner of my room, I am looking through it's eyes at myself sitting in my chair, eventually, you will transfer your consciousness into this double and hey presto!

For people who find visualisation hard, I would suggest the rope technique.  Use your search engine to resarch this technique as it is very popular and well documented.

Hope this helps, please contribute and hopefully, we will all be able to enjoy the delights of the astral.

Spencer.
