Listening to music in the astral

This was something I read was possible.  So I tried it a couple times when I went out.  It's very strange.  It was as though I had to direct every note I heard.  If I lost focus, the notes and rhythm would be wrong.

Although, if I were to try creating music, it would be much easier because changes would manifest immediately.

Has anyone experimented with this?

In my experience the music is indistinct. It couldn't possibly be something that is physically occurring. If you listen closely to the notes you will notice that they don't have the well defined quality of real music, and when you try to concentrate upon them they might fade away.

Whereas, when listening to real music one notices that it is less vague and has a rich quality. In a sense, the music is a dream...but in your experience not quite (because there is an amount of conscious direction).

When waking up in a lucid dream in the astral we might notice how the images fade away like phantoms and the senses sharpen. The music is the same way (even with conscious direction); if one were to become lucid at the instant of hearing subconscious music in the astral and hear real music it would be possible to notice the difference in quality (just as it is possible to notice a difference in regular dreams and lucid experiences).

This is very interesting. I've never tried listening to music.  I do know that I have many many times marvelled at the utter detail of my visual environment.  I have floated round vast cities and been awe-struck at the detail, the styles of architecure, the style of bricks used in walls, flakes of wood peeling off windows, adverts on the sides of buses etc.  Nothing is missed out, and no conscious effort is involved in directing the visual feast.  It's awesome.  So I would assume that music would have the same quality of effortless detail.  But I've never tried it.....!

It's an old thread, I admit, but still one of the best about music in the astral...
