Lots of visible white flashes / flickering.

These occur shortly after waking. I sometimes feel like I'm floating. Any ideas of what these flashes could be?

are they like flashes of white specks that seem to spot up spontaneously in your vision? if so, then i've been wondering the same thing.

They are either full vision flashes, or specks.

Are your eyes closed or open, and are you still laying down in bed when you have the floaty feeling?

According to Robert Bruce's "Astral Dynamics", your flashes could be your 3'rd eye "getting ready" ie. trying to start up. (It feel's like a stroboscope flashing in your mind/eyes).
