I have had some experiences with that before.  when I first began experienceing obe and paralysis states I didnt know what was going on and was confused and frightnened at the same time. For me it was loud ringing and sometimes it sounded like a train roaring through my head. VERY uncomfortable feeling let me tell you. even when I awoke I could still feel aftereffects of the sensations as if they really happened.

It has been a while since I experienced VERY loud ringing or roaring sounds in my ears, I think the sounds subside in intensity  as you get more comfortable with obe and your energy levels increase. If you are having these sensations, use it to your advantage and try to stay relaxed and use techniques to obe. It is hard not to wake up after this, so increasing your relaxation techniques will help. the frst few times I was in paralysis or feeling vibrations I didnt know what was going on an just forced myself to wake up, when I should have been relaxing and go for an obe. This was before I knew what was happening and things like this just scared the hell out of me.

Hi,

I to have experienced this problem. For many years I would wake up because of a loud violent noise which seemed to be coming from  inside my head, also my body seemed to be vibrating. I found this very disturbing. I eventually consulted my doctor and he told me that I was suffering from a condition called night terrors so I thought no more of it.
Anyway about two years I was trying to sleep and the usual noise and vibrations started then all of a sudden I felt myself bouncing about. I then realised that I could see myself bouncing off the walls of my bedroom this seemed to last for about a minute and them I found myself back to normal.
Since then I have projected about five times and each time the noise has decreased.

Me too. I always get the "train roaring through my head" sound in my younger year. Usually with sleep paralysis. In fact my experience is pretty much like what Finn has posted that I can't really add anymore.

Nowaday the vibration are of gentle buzzinng kind and no longer violent.

A loud ringing noise is often accompanied by the vibrations which preceed projection. Seen in that regard then loud noises can be a positive sign. However, loud noises can be annoying. Don't be distracted and try to stay focused on whatever induction method you are practicing.

That noise is coming from every atom of every object in the physical universe. All matter vibrates on a differant frequency, and vibrations produce sound. That's the sound that our plane produces... you actually hear it all the time, but your brain is so used to it you don't notice it. It's like you'd say bugers don't really have a smell, because you smell them all the time, or that air doesn't have a smell or taste...It's like that saying, you don't know what you have until you lose it...you conciousness was in the astral, so when you come back, your bound to appreciate the sound a bit more, you can hear it now, just get in a quiet room and concentrateon the noise.
My friend Julian said if you clear your mind and listen to the sound for like three whole minutes you'll automaticly project in the astral. He read it on a website, I always fall asleep when I do that....but ya, I can hear that stuff all the time....

Hi everyone,
the loud noises are very common exit sensations which probably is very distracting ( i never got this) but my advice would be to get a good technique in mind and learn it well so that the next time it happens you can try to focus more on the technique and divert your attention away from the noise. As for the cooling sensation your talking about Sublime,  This is an energy body sensation.  Some people get cool, some warm, some tingly... I would suggest you read the NEW Energy Ways online tutorial, it will help to explain. hope i could be of some help!

wow, this is exactly what i went through last summer.  a very very loud ring in my ears, paralysis and losing control of my body (felt liek bouncing around).  this, thank god, doesnt happen anymore, but i always thought that i was being abducted by aliens when this happened. LOL

haha now i feel like a complete idiot, but its good to hear that others have felt what i felt.

I have a monumental "gong" noise in my ears each time i project, but it never frightened me, as i read in RB's treatise that it could happen. It nearly makes my head shake physically each time. Usually it shows me that i am totally out of my body, as when i don't get the noise i'm still partly in it, so i keep pushing out. It's like a signal that i can stop pushing.

I've had spontaneous obe sensations since i was a child. For years though, I did not have them. Now that I have found out what they are and am familiar with the sensations, I am able to analyze them a little better than before.

last night, something happened that hasnt happened for a while yet it brought back memories of it happening all the time when i was a child... shortly after i go to sleep, (usually when my upper body is cold for some reason) i will have exit sensations. I fought them off as a child and was successful in doing so. Now, i'm able to use those sensations (when they occur which is rare) to actually exit my body. However, sometimes (last night) i will have the sensations and they will be followed by a LOUD ringing in my ears which frightens me. sometimes that is accompanied by sleep paralysis which i hate. Anyways, last night this happened and while it was happening, i became completely conscious of it happening so i tried to just focus on my breathing and sort of meditate while lying there. i then awoke and STILL heard the loud ringing in my ears along with my heart beating rapidly.

I'm just curious as to what this may be and if anyone else has any experience with it.

Thanks
