Lucid Dream? Maybe more?

For some reason I had stored this in the back of mind for a number of years and am suddenly remembering it very vividly.
To my knowledge I have never projected, however when considering this, it seems as if maybe I have.
I seem to recall a number of occasions in which I was walking along a street, and I opened up a very skinny door in between shops that no-one else seemed to notice.
Once inside I found that I was in a paradise! At the front were receptionists sitting at a desk. There were palm trees and sandy beaches, and clear bodies of water. Most notably though, this place was located high in the sky, and surrounded by clouds, it was beautiful. Maybe it's not a projection, either way I'm curious as to if anyone else has ever visited this place? I'm not quite sure whether it was a figment of my imagination, or some higher plane that I happened upon.

Any thoughts?

Don't want to burst your bubble, but..

Things you think about, see, and hear during the day often, and usually always, are what you dream about.

That 'door' in the street reminds me of the place in Harry Potter, hidden in the streets of London.
Perhaps you were reading Harry Potter, or watched the movie recently?

The tropical paradise could be from anything. Harsh winters making you dream about getting out of there, a friend telling you about him going to Hawaii, you seeing a commercial for a tropical getaway, etc.

Mix these together, and you've got a dream!
Maybe a lucid dream!

If you experienced it more than once, you could have been thinking about the first time, causing you to have the dream again.

Or...

Maybe it was an Astral Projection!

If you remember it completely, and were fully concious, it most likely was.
Or, it could have still been a lucid dream, if not THAT real, but still seemed rather real.


*Note, I am speaking from opinion, and just what I have read. I haven't had any Astral or OOB experiences, so don't listen to me if you don't want to.

Yes I have considered the Harry Potter door, however when I look back on it, I don't think that book was even out yet, this was a very long time ago..

If it was AP you would know. It is very different than a lucid dream or dream.

Well, I can't exactly say that. And I'm not quite sure how to accurately depic this, but it was a feeling of "knowing" that this was different from an ordinary dream. Hey, probably wasn't an OBE, I don't have high expectations. As a general rule I set them low, so as not to be too disapointed.

But damn was this place cool.
