I can get out-of-body fine when I'm in the lucid, semi-conscious states that seem to happen on their own about once a week as I wake up, but I can't get to the Real-Time-Zone. I want to get there badly so I can try reading a sign in my room while OBE, then waking up to see if it says the same thing.

Here's what I do to try to achieve a real-time-zone OBE, do any of yall have suggestions on how I could change it?

1)  In the morning, sometimes my mind becomes awake before my body's had a chance to wake up yet. I have never been able to see the room through my closed eyelids in this state; everything's always just black.
2) I stay in bed and try not to wake myself up while I imagine myself floating upward. I separate from my body without any of the weird effects described in astral dynamics - no noises or voices telling me to stop, no hypnagogic imagery, no vibrations. Once out, everything is still black, except for the occasional blob of light floating through the blackness. Sometimes for a weird reason I'll start floating downwards very quickly, and it takes a lot of effort to keep this from happening.
3) I relax my mind as much as I can, and think of where I want to go. Eventually I get there, either by staying in one spot and letting the place seemingly take shape around me, or by "falling" into the place like I did this morning. (This is hard to describe better than that....I just sort of leaned forward and somersaulted into where I wanted to be. :p )
4) If I remained lucid enough to go to my room, I look for the sign, read it, and wake up.

The problem is that while I fully believe I'm in the real-time-zone while I'm projecting due to lack of lucidity, once I wake up, I realize that it isn't. There'll be objects in the room that don't exist, the room will be the wrong shape, or something like that. How do I get to the RTZ? Is it this hard for most people? I've probobly had over 100 projections, I lost count.

If you rely on being half-asleep to project, you'll be half-asleep WHEN you project, ie not fully lucid.

RB specifically states in AD that your consciousness at the time of projection is what's projected out. If your consciousness is half-asleep, your astral double will be half asleep.

If you want to be more lucid/awake, try learning to project from an awake state.

To take what astalspinner said one step further, you need to be able to project at a higher energy level- I have had quite a few projections that have also been lower energy- and I think you should do more energy work. I also think that your experiences are pretty common, not everyone has experiences like you read in books everyday.
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

Thanks for yall's replies. :) I guess I better get Astral Dynamics back from my friend and learn how to meditate/do energy work again.
