Hi there Tom !

There is still some disagreement as to whether or not a lucid dream is an OBE.

I look at it this way : Dream - Lucid Dream - OBE are differing levels of awareness. Fundamentally, they are the same state.

In a lucid dream, you have some control of your surroundings (sometimes you have complete control and clarity). During an OBE, you also have this control - but on top of this, you have the sensation that you are out of your body. The reality you experience can be indistinguishable from physical reality.
quote:
Every time am having a luzid dream and concentrate on my real body I just wake up.

This raises another point - the commonly held distinction between the Real time zone (e.g. what appears to be your bedroom and your world, whilst out of body) and the astral zone (many differing levels of reality and experience). It sounds to me as if you are attempting to experience the classic "float out of the body" OBE.

During a lucid dream, if you concentrate on your physical body, chances are you will wake up ! I must admit I have had no success in finding my physical body with this technique either. However, bear in mind that OBE's are not limited to the "real time zone".

hope this helps,
Mark

Well my first full  OBE (2 days ago)into the RTZ was via a LD. I found myself lucid in my body, but it did not wake up, but it FELT awake. I did not try to OBE right away, I laid there and let myself settle then I shook myself out of my body and popped out. The key seems to be not to try too hard to project. While I settled down, I was think of projecting but didn't force it. When my mind began to drift is when the shaking began (like when a dog shakes itself dry) and I was out. It was kind of an automaticaly triggered event, as if I had programmed myself via selfhypnosis in the settling period after becoming lucid in my body.

I've been trying ROPE and other dynamic forms, and my body always wakes up. These seems to work for me. I will keep on trying.Should work while in trance as well as LD, in theory. I'll pursuit this avenue for a while.

Hope my recent experience helps y'all.[:D]

When you lucid dream, you are using your astral body (I think), but your lower bodies could still be at your physical body. You are already out. Go higher if you want a normal OBE. It would be counterproductive to go back to your body and start with the lower bodies. Try this in a lucid dream: Close your eyes. Say "I am in the upper astral". The present tense (instead of will be) is important.

Beavis makes a good point about present tense affirmations. They are incredibly powerful. Even during waking life they can make a difference. I read a book about self discipline that used this PRESENT TENSE affirmations as its cornerstone. In the astral they should be even more useful.

How do I change from a lucid dream into an obe? Every time am having a luzid dream and concentrate on my real body I just wake up.

By the way: A lot of people assure me that a lucid dream is already an obe! What do you think about that?

All ther best Tom
