Title: Lucid dreams
Post by: Harry on February 16, 2005, 22:38:57
Hi I'm Harry I'm new here :)

I've been trying quite a few obe methods and I seem to be making progress. I'd like to try to get out of my body using lucid dreams. How do you get these and, when you do get them, how do you use them?

Hi Harry,

You might find some of your answers in the 'Welcome to Permanent Astral Topics forum'- bundles of good material there!

Good luck,

Stephen

I had reasonable results with the "Reality check" method - you spend the day asking yourself things like "Is this a dream? How do I know? If it were a dream, what would I do?" and so on.

The idea is that this habit carries over until you ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" during a dream, and there you go.

It never worked for me that way. It just resulted in my realising I was dreaming without any of the questions. It appears that the more time you spend thinking about dreaming, the better your chances are of LD's.

However, even after weeks of such efforts, I only ever had maybe one LD a week. So in the end I stopped bothering.

This week, however, I've been doing some fairly successful meditations, and have also been going to sleep performing the same excercises as I do when I meditate. And I've had two LDs so far, just from this.
