Jayselect,

This topic has been talked about at great lengths on the forums, so I used the 'search tool' and came up with two pages worth, but the link won't work..[}:)]
soooooooooo, go to the search tool at the top of the page, type in "smoking marijuana" for all forums and entire message and you should get the two pages I got.

You should be able to find your answer in one of those post..[:P]

Not me. I don't suggest it. If you do project from it, you can get some bad experiences.

Well, not me, When I project from smoking weed, It is a great experience but I tend to go lucid faster than me not being on weed.
I always forget that when i smoke and project, that I need NOT to stay in the RTZ, but need to go to the higher planes like API or something.
Soul Travel is an individual experience,
a realization of survival.  It
is an inner experience through which
comes beauty and love of all life.  It cannot
be experienced in rituals or ceremonies,
nor bottle in creeds

Hi,
The use of weed is fine if you do not abuse it.  In ancient cultures it was used in a mix of other herbs to help bring insight and vision,  although we do not need to do that.

Prolonged and regular use will cause the primal area of your brain to secrete a mucus-like substance that you will feel at the back of your head.  It is somewhat like a hung-over feeling.  Those who easily see auras will also see this mucus extending into the subtle energy bodies.  That has to be of some concern.

I have smoked before meditation and journey, only to find that it is a poor substance to use while doing so. One friend always found he was at an angle to the guides he spoke with, they told him it was because he was 'bent'.  Which of course, he was.

You may also notice that whatever insights you get while stoned are not able to be remembered the next day.  This alone should be reason enough to consider moving away from the abuse of the drug.

Suffice to say that as powerful souls we are greater than the drug of choice, which is very true when doing energy work or healing, but weed is not good for us in any way other than some medicinal uses and perhaps the very occassional smoking for the effect.  You wouldn't try to project if you where blind drunk would you ?  So why should any other drug be used ?

Love Always.[:)]

That is also true for much of normal astral projection. I think its that way for any different state of mind, but we still try to have those states.

do you have any medicinal proof to back up this mucus claim?

I smoke marijuana and have used it before meditation and projection attempts, and the results, while strong, were IMO not beneficial. Drugs have some limited value in spiritual exploration, but to me that value is wearing thin. I'm currently struggling to temper my use of the drug- even though I don't buy it any more, I'm offered it constantly and have a hard time passing.

I have not successfully astral projected yet, but I feel I am close. One thing I have noticed is that when I smoke a joint or two, and then try to relax my body. I can do it much faster.

I'm not sure what is happening, but I can feel energy or sensations of heaviness being put on me at an extremely fast rate.

Usually I get the vibs if I can stay focused enough, but my mind won't shut up and I can never hold it[V] I'm workin on it though[;)]

Anybody else ever smoke before they meditate?
