I almost always try projectiong laying down on my back. Why? That is what is most comfortable to me. I think ideally I would perfer reclining in a comfortable recliner/chair but I do not have any such furniture that fits me good enough for this. So I lay down in bed.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Hello,

I would meditate for as long as you can on your back and then turn over on your side or whatever's most comfortable for you to sleep.

You're probably going to experience your first few projections whilst asleep. They will come to you in a dream or another sleep state, either spontaneously or through induction.

If you haven't read the technique for pulling an OBE out of a dream yet, here it is:

Make yourself aware that you're dreaming. Meditation the night before will help induce this, as well as falling asleep thinking about OBE. After you become aware, stare at something in your dream. It could be a colour, an object, a feeling, etc. Keep focus on it until the dream scenery fades away. You will find yourself in either the RT zone, the astral or a lucid dream (and possibly a combination of the three, especially at first).

Factors to improve your chances:

- Be in good health when you try
- Meditate the night before
- Eat good
- Do NEW work
- Practice checking whether you are awake throughout the day by touching an object like a table and seeing if your hand goes through. it will help you remember to make yourself aware during the dream.
- Exercise
- Be extremely relaxed when you lie down to go to bed. It helps a lot to try when you don't have to go to work/school the next day.

Good luck,

I have this little trouble when choosing my posture in bed before trying to OBE...
It is incredibely difficult for me to sleep on my back, but when i am on my side i have a lot of difficulties to feel my astral body...
I read in another post that it could be an idea to turn my head a little (because i usually get too tense with my jaws and throat) so i think i will keep trying on my back...
Anyway ! What are youre favorites postures for escaping your body...and WHY ?
