A projection method

Hello everyone,

An acquaintance of mine relayed a story the other day about a friend of his who used to frequently take him consciously out into the astral. He had no knowledge at all of the occult whereas she was apparently taught different things from her aunt.

I am wondering if any advanced practitioner here has heard of the sort of technique she used to make him project. If an explanation can be given on the likely mechanics of it I would appreciate it.

This is what he said she would do:

She would start out by massaging his shoulders and neck. He would sit upright on the floor.
At some point either before or during she would "create strings or balls of energy made of 'astral light' that she would then project into him somehow".
He noticed she would make a strange posture(s) with her hand around her hip area.
He would then get some pain in his head, akin to a headache.
He would then consciously come out in his astral body. She would be there in hers to greet him.

Any ideas?

Hi Prop,
         This kind of method reminds me of techniques used by shamen or Huna, which use trance states and manipulation of energy (chi or mana) to achieve healing or astral projection. I love this stuff and believe it is based in (as yet undiscovered) science.
