Title: Motivation
Post by: cobalt on February 28, 2005, 16:39:36
I just found out that i have a very big problem, beofer i ever know anything about APing, once, i had a very big vish to get out of my body and to get to one star, i was begging/forcing myself to even die only get out of my body and where i wanted to go...so i felt a sleep, "woke up" from vibrations, i freaked out and ordered them to stop...(See what you can get with good motivation?)

No i want to project but i cant find a good motivation, a real reason why i should project, i dream to fly, explore universe and beyond, of course in beginning a could just play walking trought walls, so what can you suggest for motivation(not anything detailad, just ideas)?

Can you just force yourself with idea that you want to get out there..?

my big "monologus" again ;)

nice avatar, I think ours nicely work well together.

I don't know, perhaps you should read the quantum-metaphysics essay.

You just need to read all this stuff to motivate you. Sounds like you are just scared.

Hi. I hope, I have correctly understood a question. The motivation really strongly influences oobe, but the projection is achieved also with the help of trainings, works with techniques and development of other abilities, such as a relaxation, concentration, etc.

It's the same as motivating yourself in anything else.

However people are usually motivated when they want to do something, so after your first projection you will probably immediately have much more motivation to have more.

Sounds like it wasnt what you expected and quickly changed your mind about wanting it so much.

Hey Cobalt

I share the same goal as you in travelling into space; exploring stars, nebula,  the vast wonders of the universe.  To keep me motivated I keep focusing on potential rewards of AP. Imagine the thrill to see the lunar landing sites. To visit Olympus Mons on Mars or pass through the rings of Saturn. Thats what I use to motivate me.  Now that you experienced the vibrations you know what to expect. Try to change the fear of the unknown into the thrill of exploration.

Motivation? Let's see a few:

To visit places you've never been (and will never see in the physical)

To go back time and see the history (told & untold)

To go forward in time

To meet your gone beloved ones

To meet spiritual guides

To get closer to enlightment

These are the first X what are in my mind in 5 secs.

U chuz 1!

When I first experienced kundalini energy I wasn't expecting it and it scared the [edit] out of me; - causing me to stop immediately. But I think if I experienced vibrations like that which woke me up from sleep I would be even more scared. It is probably why you got so discouraged from it. When we wake up it takes a few seconds to register where we are and before you could do that you had vibrations so I can understand why you freaked out. So you could try to project consciously without falling asleep as you will be expecting the vibrations this time.

But as I said earlier, the best way to "produce" motivation is to *experience* something you like first. When you project you can follow any of the ideas listed by others above or anything in your imagination.

Hmm, you all seem to think that im afraid from vibrations, well, now im not, becose i know what it is...jus only few times i could get them again, was when i was a sleep(i was half conscious, tryying to project, falled asleep and was so concentrating that i even tried it while i was dreaming ), i wasnt scared, but since i was a sleep i coldnt do exactly what i wanted to do, you know just "flowed" in my dream..btw, vibrations wasnt so vivid too

The more reading you do on what other people have done with astral projection and the benefits they received from doing it, the more you will want to have it for yourself. The only trouble is that it is very challenging to put this kind of experience in words. While out of body, every experience is more vivid and real than anything in the body can be because it is more direct. It does not have to be filtered through your physical body and its senses.

Well this I quote from an article found here:

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13081&highlight=

2. Projectors Are Drawn To It. Like moths to flame, many of us are
drawn to OOBEs. We can't really help it. It's not that OOBEs are cool, neat, fantastic, or the "in" thing to do -- at a deep level something tugs at us.
Remember that time, long ago when you were a child and found yourself "out"?
You can't forget it, can you? The memory and feeling is always right
there... tugging at you.

Well that is just enough to keep me motivated now that I found what that experience really was.

Edit:

just remembered.... you will learn to meditate... that is a possible motivation for anyone.
Even if you do not believe you could AP.
