Something I posted on another forum yesterday which you may find of interest..

-------------------------

Just had multiple OBE's. :)

It's amazing to think that only a few minutes ago, I was layed in bed repeatedly projecting out of my body and wondering about the house. I had a really heavy drinking session yesterday and I've felt terrible today cos of it but on the plus side, It's always an ideal opportunity for an OBE attempt cos for some reason, I seem to be able to do it much much easier.

I was layed on my bed with my arms down my side and trying to clear my head of all thoughts which I pretty much did and then came the little warm tingling feelings in the ends of my fingers and then a few minutes later it got to the point where my limbs felt dead so then I slowly sat up (mentally) and I noticed how the floor felt which was the same as physically and I could feel the wooden beams on the bottom of my foot as weve not got carpets down at the moment. I headed straight for the door, passed through it a couple of times seeing if I could notice the difference in texture as we've had a new and solid one put on and I could but very very slightly. I headed for the landing and my vision wasn't clear at all and like looking through frosty glass. I 'said' 'clear vision please' and said it a few times as nothing changed but what I also noticed was that I was saying this physically. I tried not to say it physically but couldn't manage it. I headed downstairs and my vision became clearer but not perfect. I noticed some changes and how not everything looked like it should. For example we've just had our kitchen wall knocked through but the wall was still there. I went into the kitchen and at this point my vision quickly faded and I realised I was back in my physical but still semi paralysed so I projected again and I did this several times and kept loosing it once I got to the kitchen.

Eventually, I managed to project and get past the kitchen and I headed outside noticing the time on the cooker.. 5:35 . I got to the back door and decided to check for my cord again but before I put my hand to the back of my head I tried not to expect the cord to be there if you like. I slowly put my hand to the back of my head and couldn't feel anything and thought 'hmm this is a first but then I put my hand to the very top of my head and there it was but it was so thin like a piece of cotton. I felt around where it was connected to my head and it just seemed to go straight into my head. I then decided to not bother going outside and wanted to see how it felt on my physical head so I floated back upstairs and back through my bedroom door and I couldn't see myself and my bed was like it is now but I just couldn't see myself layed on top of it. I thought to myself 'well yea this is odd but I'm bound to be there' so I felt for the cord again and ran my hands down it to follow it back to my physical head and sure it enough it led to my physical head which I could feel but not see. On my physical head, where it joined, there was a few little bumps where it joined but barely noticeable and it kind of branched out a little bit. I held my cord in my hands again and couldn't believe how thin it was and I thought to myself again 'if I tugged this or it snapped somehow, would I remain in this state, possibly seen as a ghost'.

I decided to will myself back and got out of bed and went to check the cooker to see what time it was and it said 6:05 which is 30 minutes more than what it said when out. I felt all dazed for a bit trying to pull myself together a bit but feel fine now. I was just talking to my mum and dad after what I just experienced and in the back of my mind I'm thinking 'if only you could of just experienced what I have'. I told my mum and dad about my OBE's ages ago and don't really mention it now cos they just think its weird and I was dreaming. They really haven't a clue have they.

That's a really great experience, I wish I were able to actually explore my house in a real-time out of body experience (aka ethereal projection), but it usually doesn't last too long for me. I think I've actually walked up to my living room once, but i'm not sure if it was just a lucid false awakening. When I have a complete OBE (I'm usually unable to fully exit) I don't seem to be able to see my physical body very clearly, if even at all. I can't even see my ethereal self either. Sometimes I feel like i'm in two places at once though because I may still hear and feel my physical self breathing, but I'm seeing things as if in another entity's body. It's like having a vision....o.O

edit: saying "increase lucidity" twice seems to work for me... :)

In your post you said: "I 'said' 'clear vision please' and said it a few times as nothing changed but what I also noticed was that I was saying this physically."  I've had this happen during both of the OBE experiences I've had, but yours was much longer and move profound than mine were.  It was strange, I could feel my mouth moving as I was saying things to myself.  It's interesting that the alcohol helped induce your OBE.  For me, alcohol makes it practically impossible.

Thats a nice obe you had.
I do remember not being able to see my body, once during an obe, although there were depressions on the bed, as if someone invisible was laying there.

Do you see and/or feel your silver cord on every OBE?
I ask because the silver cord is seen very rarely by most people (only on about 3% to 5%of OBEs) For instance I have had many OBEs but have seen my silver cord only once. So seeing the silver cord during every OBE is quite unusual indeed.

Yea I've noticed that its not very common.  I've been having OBE's for about 3 years now and before this it was all lucid dreams but its only been over the last 3 or 4 months that I've noticed my cord.  I read about it ages ago and its not something I really focused on when I was having an OBE and usually I'd just roam about the house or outside and not think about it but the first time I noticed the cord was by accident when I put my hands in front of me to see what my hands looked like and on doing that, my hands came into contact with it and it seemed to come into view only when touched.  Now, when I have an OBE, I seem to want to see if its there and it has been there in each OBE.  The only differences has been how thick my cord is in each OBE and how dense it is.  It seems that when I'm close to my physical, the cord is less dense and thin but when further away, its much thicker and denser and almost like rubber.

So how come your kitchen wall was still there???

Is there like a time lapse with the astral?  was you in astral?   or real time zone?

Anyone have an explanation for this...   the explanation that "its all in your imagination which is why wall was still there" is not that reliable, seen as you KNEW already the wall was gone, and you have ovbiously seen he kitchen many times without the wall been there...

Any explanation?

Something that often happens with me to be honest.. I'll project and everything is just like in an OBE state but something always crops up that doesn't make sense that makes me question what I'm experiencing and where I am (if anywhere).

Strange ... isn't it?
When you are in astral, not all things are rational. I haven't experienced the so called "Real time zone" or RTZ yet. IMO its not so real and one should not trust things in astral, just maintain a mild curiosity and experience the ... umm experience...

The scarcity of successful experiments of recording a random number or color of cards for example, are a clue that what you are experiencing may not be real, or that its too difficult to perceive physical things in normal way while in astral.
Yes, there are claims, but the bottom line is, no one knows. Thats the fun part, its a challenge actually.

So whether consciousness can travel independently out of the body and perceive physical things as they are is an open question , for me at least :)

I guess the astral worlds are just too different to our own worlds, i mean in their vary nature, they are obviously heavily affected by thoughts...

Because the astral worlds are not physical worlds are they, they are less sense in "energy" or vibration or w/e it is...

But there is still plenty of evidence that OBEs could well be real and not all imagination...  THe fact they happen to alot of people for thousands of years with alot of consistencies in the experiences which cannot really be explained properly by anybody.

Then theres the thousands of people who have proved to themself by personal experiences that astral projection is not in the imagination, i mean sure they cant prove it all the time, but like we said the astral worlds are much different to our own, its something you have to prove to yourself for sure i guess.

Your imagination does play a part in astral worlds tho, of course you are using your imagination to move!  So its not supprising that you could also be using it to form your surroundings...

Yet people have given weird accounts where you can see 360 degrees vision while out of body...  and other things we cant really explain or even imagine.

Theres deffo a high chance astral worlds are just a natural part of our complicated mysterious universe and reality, a part which we will never fully understand.

Another argument for astral projection would be the thousands of near death experiences all reported with many consistencies.

You also have past life regression with hypnosis, and many cases where children remember past lives and know all the details about them!

When you put it all together there is deffo a chance the astral is part of our reality, just a part where nothing is forever or physical and everything is changing at different speeds than our own physical universe.

The fact that these experiences have been happening for so long, to so many people all across the world with so many consistencies in what they felt and experienced would suggest there is deffo some reality to the astral.  Also the fact we dont know what consciousness actually is yet, not fully...  nor do we have any real idea where it comes from or how it works.

It is true that some scientists do not believe astral projection is real...  but how many of these scientists have been researching astral projection all their lives including having there own personal experiences?  Also their are very credible scientists who do back the idea or posibility of astral projection.  But there will always be a lil bit of faith required.  We just have to enjoy life and explore both astral and real world, and try to leave it a better place than before we came here.

As for people trying to gain evidence for the astral with playing cards or color cards for example...  That is very hard given the nature of the astral worlds, because all you have to do is have a thought in your mind telling you the card is RED and it will be red...  Your thoughts and expectations are helping to form this astral world.  I guess its a personal thing you need to prove.

I know INVISABLELIGHT.US  (sorry forgot your full URL and your name but know your a member on here)...  his tests seem to have very positive results for the evidence that astral projection is not all in the mind.
