Title: My experience after a week of trying to project.
Post by: dbmathis on January 07, 2009, 14:40:51
Hi Everyone,

I am happy to see that there are so many people interested in something that is so overlooked and unknown and considered false by a great majority of the population (Especially in the US).

I knew nothing about Astral Projection until about 2 weeks ago when my friend of 11 years mentioned it to me and that she had been doing this for 20 years. I just had to get started immediately to make up for lost time.

I want to share my progress after a week of trying and get some opinions about my experience last night. I think I might have projected however I feel it may have been a lucid dream.

I have been using the same technique for a week now ever night. I start off by listening to "Brain Sync - Deep Meditation - 1 - Music + Theta Waves.mp3" while I fall asleep. I try the following steps while I listen and fall asleep, or any time that I wake up during the night.

a) I close my eyes and focus on the blackness and I run the following words through my mind over and over and over. "I am leaving my body"

b) After a while I start to notice that random thoughts try to enter my mind, I can feel the dream state coming on. When this happens I block out the random thoughts and continue to run the words above through my head and I start imagining myself floating out of my body.

Until last night I have had no success. Last night I still fell asleep at the beginning of the night but I woke up a 5 AM and had a bathroom break. When I went and laid back down I tried the same steps above and saw results.

Five minutes after I laid down and as I was imagining floating I felt a high pitched energy enter my body. It seemed to be centered in my jaw, forehead, arms and legs and my body started vibrating. I ignored this and stayed calm and then I was able to roll out of my body to the left side of the bed. I looked over at the bed but could not see myself as it was dark. I was able to make out my wife in the bed. I then lost it an woke up.

Then ten minutes after this while using the same technique again the same vibrations happened, however this time I floated over my wife and sat down at her side of the bed in the floor and was looking around the room for about 5 seconds. I then for some reason felt like I should open my eyes, even though I could see fine, and I was instantly back in bed.

Was this an ODE or just a lucid dream? I was totally aware of the state I was in and that I invoked it, however it did still seem dreamlike.

Best Regards

David

When you rolled out, did you move your physical body at all? Or just imagined in your head that you rolled out and suddenly you were looking from a different location? I need to know!

When I rolled out, my physical body did not move. It was all in my head in a dreamlike state. Like I mentioned above, it was not a normal dream, because in a normal dream I have no awareness of my physical body or my wife laying in the bed.

It was either a very lucid dream or an OBE I am not really sure at this point. When I floated over my wife I was very much aware and conscious. I knew that I had induced the state, I knew where I was and who I was and was looking at the room just as it really is. The part the irritates me is that I tried to open my eyes and lost it :).

Maybe the eye thing is a common occurrence.

That's an OBE. Well done!

2432615184: I guess what I said in the other thread didn't help much. :P

It's not like trying to move physically, and it's not like imagining moving either. Last time I said you knew what to do at the time, and this is kind of right. I think I can describe it better now. At some point you become aware of two bodies and ones sort of bouncing around inside the other. You can independently control these, and the "inside" one needs to come out.

2432615184: I guess I should point out that I have been listening to meditation tracks for the last year and I also practice Yoga (My cure for migraines). I am not sure if any of this helped speed up the process, but like others have mentioned on this forum, this type of thing doesn't seem to happen overnight for most people. I would say most people don't even know this is possible, I know I didn't know until a couple of weeks ago and I am around meditating hippies all the time.

I think the main thing is to know it's possible and REALLY believe it's possible, and this philosophy can be applied to anything in life. The more you think about something and believe in it the more the mind brings whatever it is into reality.

Make meditation a way of life and I am sure you will see positive results in not only OBEs, but all other aspects of life.

I know its possible I have felt the floating feeling and every night reach the vibrational state. I just am not sure if I should think about being in a different place then suddenly I pop up there or try the methods such as sinking etc.
