Hello people,

Wondering if you can provide some advice on this:  Last night at around 1am I was asleep and dreaming, and all of a sudden the dream changed so I became much more in control, and because it has happened before, I knew what was coming next - tremendous vibrations all over my body with a very loud high-pitched wail in my left ear, together with a feeling of being wrenched from my body...

This happens to me maybe twice every year, and each time I can't say I like the experience (in fact it feels like I'm going to die! - it's OK, I've seen all the postings saying not to fret about it.. but that's easier said then done)!  So, I fight it with all my might and eventually open my eyes, the sound gone.

I'm very interested in this though - I do want to project - can anyone suggest how to get over the 'fear'?  I've also noticed that this happens more when I'm very fatigued, like I've had a long week or I've done a lot of physically hard work during the day - is this other people's experience?  And, have you noticed at all that it is certain 'types' of people who get this feeling rather than others?  Also, does the heart rate rise in the physical body when this happens - has anyone had their 'pulse' (i.e. heart pulse) measured in tests... or am I missing the point?! ;-)

Thanks

Hello invarianti, and welcome!
Ive had somewhat of the same experience. It happened maybe a month ago, I must have became lucid in a dream, and thought about projection. Before I knew it, I was "seeing" my room, had super intense vibes, and was floating out. Truthfully, I dont know what happened, it really just might have been a dream.
Anyway, it sounds like the same thing that happened in my "dream" happened to you. You became lucid, and I guess, tried to project from there. About getting over the fear of it, I would suggust affirmations said throughout the day. Another solution to things about me that Ive stumbled apon is go to sleep with the intend of dreaming about that "thing", and face your fear there. This works a lot for me, maybe it'll help you.
Whew, thats all from me, I hope Ive helped at least a little.
Take care!

During the vibrations I'm still capable or "normal" thought. If you are, then try to do what I do. Stop, and think about it. "Why am I afraid? There's nothing there."

that's helped me before. Although, I've only been afraid durnign the vibrations once. I was on stomach, and it felt like something was behind me, on my back. It scared me at first, but then I stopped, and thought about it. "Tuh. Nothing there. If there is, it can't hurt me. I'm out of here!" Poom. Projection. No more fear and nothing there.
I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/

invarianti, I came here about a month ago claiming to have the same experiences as you.  I know what you mean when you say that it is hard to not be afraid, especially when you don't know when and where a spontaneous projection may occur.  What I can tell you, is that if you keep on thinking to yourself, "Next time a projection happens, I am going: to explore, be inquisitive, not be afraid..." You will feel more secure the next time one happens.  Good luck on projection.

PM me if you want to talk about your experiences.

Hi invarianti,

Welcome to the Astral Pulse forums! [:)] Take some time to read over some of our previous posts. There are topics that have been made 'sticky' in a lot of the forums that may interest you. There is an entire forum devoted to 'sticky' topics called Welcome to Permanent Astral Topics. Also, take a look at our File Library for some great downloads on OBE.

Meanwhile, regarding the 'fear' that you wrote about, take a look at the following thread:

It just takes time to get use to the whole experience of seperation.  I also had fear the first time Astral beings tried to approach me and communicate. I had a fear I would get stuck somewhere Astral due to meaby having died. I was actially scared to go to sleep the next night. Also once out getting use to the feeling of Astral wind that pulls you away from your physical body.  If I can overcome the fear anyone should be able to.

Thanks for all the advice.. I'll take some time and look through some of the other threads, see what others have experienced.  I've got a lot of questions flying round my head right now!
