Hmm...I did an essay writing on "astral planes and ley line projections" nearly a year ago, I'll try and dig it up for you-I think that's what happened here.

You said your friend Jackie lives in Italy now? And that wasn't her dog but your dad said it was? It sounds, to me, like you've somehow projected onto another plane or time frame. Another dimension, so to speak, where this dog IS jackie's and she DOES live in the USA-not your reality-where she lives in Italy.

I know this must sound completley insane and I may be a little newbie (2 posts! go me! hehe) to this board, but I strongly believe you have slipped through the planes and timeframes-not a big slip, seeing how not much (I think, I could be wrong) has changed.

Are we communicating to different planes innfinately? Just by you being THERE and me being *HERE*...wherever here is...confusing subject, I hope nobody flames me for this reply and calls me a wanker...I would really hate that [:(] It's just my belief, ^that's what happened

A False Awakening Is a dream where you believe that it is Waking reality. It is a misperception of believing that you are awake while still dreaming. [?]  [|)][?]   [8D]
One effective way to determine if it is a dream is to write a few words on  a sheet of paper. Wait just a few seconds. If those words change or disappear then obviously it is a dream. At that point you should become lucid an d therefore have control over what happens.

Greytraveller, I could read my alarm clock just fine, which is a digital alarm clock, and from other dreams I had I know I can't read digital clocks (that's how I knew I could have a lucid dream).  That's the wierd thing b/c I couldn't identify it as a dream or False awakening, but it obviously was.  That's why I'm kinda confused.

False awakenings are not understood very well. Many people have false awakenings and yet do not even realize that they are in a dream. A few people are beginning to report false awakenings and a few of these people are able to project out of body from a false awakening.
It could well be that there is an area where OBEs/projections and false awakenings overlap. This would be an area where a person experiences both a false awakening and a projection simultaneously. That would be similar to the projection out of body from lucid dreams.
So it could be that you experienced both a false awakening And a projection (ethereal). During a short period during your experience you could have been in Both the OBE and the false awakening state. This would be a transition state (as it were).
BTW I know that this state exists because I have induced (a few) projections from false awakenings (after turning them into lucid dreams and them going out of body.)

This is the second night in a row that I had an OBE during a false awakening.  I wake up, about 45 minutes before I have to get up (8:15), and I decided to try to lie in bed to try to project.  I feel the vibrations come on, and I relax, but these vibrations are intense and I have to hold onto my bed so I wouldn't fall off (Yeah I was actually moving).  I finally project, and I'm surprised at how mobile I feel.  I'm floating easily which I couldn't do to well the first time I projected (that was a real projection), so I decide to explore my house in this state.  I fly through my doorway which was open (I always close my door when I sleep) and pass my dog Brisco.  I then go down the stairs and go into the kitchen.  I see another dog, so I decide to se if I could pass through him, but I can't and we knock into eachother causing him to give out a yelp.  I decide to go back up to my room, and this strange dog follows me, try to to jump up and play with me.  I go back to my room to get back into my body, but it wasn't there, but I knew sometimes you can't see your body when you project.  I started to think about my physical body, but I didn't get back in, I had to really concentrate.  I finally get back in, I look at my digital alarm clock and it reads 9:28, about a half an hour after I have to get up.  I get dressed run down stairs, and I still see this strange dog.  My dad asked me if he heard buster (not really what the dog was called, I forgot his name) acting funny, and I said no and asked who's dog that is (sometimes we dog sit for friends when they're away and vice-a-versa, it's much better than locking the dogs up in a kennel) and he says Jackies (it definately wasn't her dog because I know them well, and anyways she lives in Italy now, not the US).  Finally I really woke up and it was only 8:30.

I  have a couple of questions.  What exactly is a false awakening, because it's not quiet a dream because I can read things easily like a digital clock.  Also is there really much of a difference between projecting during a false awakeing than in real life?  Could I possibly still project to a different plane like the astral in this state?  And fianlly, is there any way that I can prevent myself from inducing a false awakening right after I get up?  I'm pretty sure I woke up for real then slipped into a False Awakening.
