Hey, a member of a similar "dreaming related" forum recommended me to come here and post my experience.. since i couldn't get any answers on it.. so i guess you guys might know  better.
So, i'm just gonna copy/paste my post from the other forum, here.

" Hey.. guys, i'm new on the forums.. just registered to share my experience that i had like 4-5 hours ago and maybe if someone knows what's the deal... i'd like to listen to him. I randomly found this forum after doing some google search about the body being "active" while dreaming.

Alright.. so .. this night was a really rough night for me..i couldn't sleep for almost 3 hours.. Now.. i am sleeping on the couch for about a year now just because i can't sleep in my own room (bro snoaring etc..). While i was sleeping i had this dream... i was dreaming of myself feeling really uncomforable on my couch..having this really really hard body to move, almost made me feel like i couldn't controll my body.. like someone was in it. I tried to stand up and i was really scared at how i was feeling at that moment and how difficult it was for me to move.. so i started heading to my parents' bedroom so that they could help me and maybe get my back at how i was.. like getting this weight off me. While i was walking on the hallway.. and i repeat it was TOO hard for me to move (for those who have seen the movie men of honor, where Chief Carl Brashear had to make 10 steps with that very heavy diving "suit" at the end of the movie).. i mean that hard.. i felt like it was just the will inside me to make this thing go away (the thing that made me feel that way), that made me able to walk. So while i was walking i suddenly stubbed onto something.. i didnt feel like it, but i started falling down.. so i assume i stubbed my foot somewhere. The strange thing is that i was falling really really really slow.. slower than a feather.. like i was floating.. and when i hit the floor, i didnt feel any pain at all, but there was still that weight on me. Then i didn't even try to stand up cause it was feeling like something impossible to do, so i crawled by way to the parents' bedroom.. i pushed the door, and went next to my mother. I was trying to wake her up, and when she did and asked me what's wrong, i couldn't talk, like something was keeping my mouth shut. Then i realised that she couldn't help me and i started asking for god's help, cause i was feeling like that "thing" that made me feel so heavy was something definately not good, something evil, and after some seconds i was back on my couch, laid down and awake. When i was "moved" back on my couch and woke up instantly, i felt my heart beating really really fast, and it was either the shock, or i really was numb all over my body.. i couldnt move at all till after some seconds

Now for those that find the description confusing : all this having that weight on me, trying to get to my parents bedroom, falling down slowly-floating, crawlling my way there, waking up my mother, not being able to talk, and praying to god... all these were when i was dreaming and then instantly i woke up and felt like i was moved back on my couch feeling numb/shocked, fast heart beat etc.. "

This was an unbelievably vivid dream

So.. is that what we call an out of body experience? Plus, i'd like some explaining/interpretation if that's possible.

Hi Def  :-)

The experience that you posted was certainly VERY OBE-like. If I had to make a call on it then I would say that it Was an OBE. An OBE where you did not have full astral consciousness and so had little focus and a lot of confusing dream imagery.
Have you had an OBE before? Or have you experienced a lucid dream? Once a person has had these experiences then he/she is usually able to discern an OBE from a LD from a normal dream. Next time that this happens to you try to remember to speak the affirmation, "Clarity Now", which will hopefully result  in a more focused, clearer consciousness.

Sorry Def

I meant a summarized version of what you wrote.
So it would keep my mind from wandering

Hey Grey
No, i haven't had any OBEs before. I think i have lucid-dreamed once, around 2-3 years ago.. well if you can actually call it a lucid dream. I had just laid down for some time just to get some rest since i had to leave the house soon to go somewhere and i fell asleep. Then after some minutes i said to myself while i was sleeping "Ok, i need to get up now else im gonna be late" and i instantly woke up (i don't remember anything else.. and i dont even know if i dreamt of anything else when i was sleeping.. the only part that i remember from this experience was that "need to wake up now" part).. I don't know if this is called lucid dreaming.. but other than that i didn't have any similar weird experiences.

And about that "clarity now" thing, how could this have helped me during my "OBE"? would it have changed my dream in some way?

Sounds like you had a false awakening, a kind of OBE- you are not completely lucid, and your 'body habits' are running the show- but your conscious awareness isn't completely disconnected from your physical body, so it's very difficult to 'separate' the feeling of movement from that of your  paralyzed body.

QuoteSo.. is that what we call an out of body experience? Plus, i'd like some explaining/interpretation if that's possible.
It was what is known as a 'false awakening', which is a short low-powered OBE that ends quickly, and is characterized by lack of lucidity.

thanks CFTraveler.. this totally clears things up for me. I searched on wiki for the term "false awakening" and my dream matches with the type 2 false awakening
