I just had an experience last night that I knew wasn't a dream. Paul, my friend told me about this forum so I would like to share my experience with you and see what you think.

I have not read any books on techniques how to start an astral projection. I've only had 2 almost AP. The first time the AP began, I felt my body shaking. I though I was dreaming that I was dreaming that my body was shaking and I couldn't move my body when I tried to wake up in my dream. Then when I did wake up, I thought it was a dream and didn't think anything of it, that is, until last night.

Last night my usual routine, I went to bed real tired around 2am then I woke I believe 2-3 hours later for some unknown reason, recalled that I a lot of dreams during that time, then went back to sleep. When I thought I was asleep, I felt my body shaking like it was from being cold then I opened my eyes and I could see, but my eyes felt that they were closed. So I tried to move my body and it wouldn't move. I "felt" that my body was sleeping and yet, I was able to see. Then I thought maybe I was half asleep with my eyes opened and dreaming, but I was wondering why I felt that I was conscience the whole time. This time I knew I couldn't be dreaming because Paul told me about his experiences and I started getting freaked out because I knew I was fully conscience and yet, it felt like it was a dream and I couldn't move my body!

My body was still shacking, I tried to sit up, but I couldn't feel my physical body sit up but I was fully aware that somehow I was almost sitting up. I hope you are following what I'm trying to say. It was a scary thing to know that I was about to leave my body. The other weird thing is that I could have sworn my peripheral vision was going wider, and wider, I could see things way on the right and left side that I normally could not do. I saw shadows from the pillows and blankets that were beside me, I could see the window, the curtains, the night. It was night but didn't seem too dark, like the whole room was light up by the moon, maybe it was I don't know how to find out. (while typing this post, I just realized that I was seeing everything clearly WITHOUT GLASSES around the room, I am very, very near sighted and I can not read a book that's 2 ft away from my eyes without glasses, I'd have to move the book closer in order to read without glasses) That was a little too much for me, so I tried to wake up. Normally if I was dreaming, I could wake up instantly, but this time it wasn't happening. I tried to move my arms and they didn't want to move, but I felt that they were there. I was somewhat paralyzed but not since I could feel that I could get up anytime I wanted too. I tried to open my eyes but couldn't, it felt like my eyes were halfway open and I couldn't control it and yet I was seeing everything clearly. Eventually I somehow got control of my body and woke up and remembered it all very vividly. The experience felt like it lasted 25-40s.

Next time don't try to stop it, I did that when it happened to me and I am kicking my self in the butt for doing it. I achieved this state by using http://www.probablefuture.com tapes. I am able to reproduce the vibrating again but as soon as I feel the vibrations I get exited and it stops :( I need to learn on hot to control it.

Hi mk-
I started to AP by accident about 1 1/2 yrs ago, it has been an exciting ride.
Based on my experiences, it sounds like you were definitely in the process of exiting your body.  The shaking sensations are a typical "pre-exit" symptom that is generally called "vibrations." for me it feels like a buzzing in my head.  As Paul said, at this point(the shaking) you want to just relax, observe what's happening, but don't try to "do" anything in particular, other than have the desire(intent) to exit.  Then the actual seperation should just come naturally.  I usually feel like I'm slowly rolling over and out.  It's AWESOME!!
Enjoy, there's nothing like it!

how did you start it by accident, the same way I did? what did you do after you left your body, what i mean is, did you crawl before you ran or flew per se.

Well I'm a sucker for anyone who reports spherical "vision".  Being able to see all around at once is sometimes reported during OOB.  mk4umha, you should try to let this progress by relaxing next time it happens and report back to us your experience.  I'm particularly interested in how far you can get your vision to "wrap around"! But your experience sounds like a pretty typical RTZ (real-time-zone) type exit from what you described.

I've had some other almost OB E's since I've posted but I can't seem to get the courage to leave my body because it's such a spooky feeling. One morning when i started to OBE out of no where, I found that i could stop and start the vibrations at will. I did that 4 times in a row but didn't get the balls to jump out and float around.   I have this fear in the back of my mind that i might get stuck in the plane or some other entity could jump in my body or some entity would follow me back around once I'm back in my physical body. I would love to do this and travel around the universe and time travel, if it's all possible.
